Director, Data Quality and Data Governance
Job Description
McDonald's is looking for a Director of Enterprise Data Governance and Data Quality to join our Chicago office. In this role, you will be responsible for defining and implementing enterprise data management and governance strategies and improving data processes and quality by working with business stakeholders to ensure alignment across the organization. You’ll also be responsible for setting vision and direction and for ensuring alignment between data architecture, business strategy, and data governance. Overall you will serve as an evangelist for the value of well-governed and well-architected data across the enterprise and how this discipline delivers tangible business value.

Responsibilities
- You will roll out an enterprise wise data governance framework, with a focus on improvement of data quality and the protection of sensitive data through modifications to organization behavior policies and standards, principles, governance metrics, processes, related tools and data architecture
- You are responsible for identifying data quality issues and creating enterprise-wide data quality remediation plans, implementation of data controls, budgeting and resource allocation
- Have oversight and ensure that standardized data governance "tools" including data requirements documents, data lineage work flows, metadata forms, data models, etc. are used across the organization
- Find opportunities of process improvements to ensure data meets following characteristics, including but not limited to: accuracy, validity, reliability, timeliness, relevance and completeness
- You will build, lead and facilitate a Data Policy Governance process to identify and understand the critical data issues in terms of business impact/risk/opportunity and ensure data policy enforcement and compliance
- You will establish and maintain partnerships with key business partners to develop and drive strategy regarding data quality and functional system administration and deliver status updates on the Enterprise Data Management dashboard
- You will set formal standards, policies and processes regarding data quality management
Minimum Requirements
Required skills:
- You have your BS or MS in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering or equivalent experience
- You have 6+ years of experience in Data Management, Data Governance and Data Quality positions
Desired skills:
- MBA or other related graduate level degree desirable
- Proven success in leadership role and vision
- You are adaptable and have excellent interpersonal, communications, and presentation skills
- You are experienced in all facets and tools of data management including data architecture and modeling, data quality, data warehousing, business intelligence, and metadata management
- You love leading Data Governance programs: heavy emphasis on developing and implementing data standards, policies, practices, and procedures that lead to substantive improvements in data integrity
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify quantify and effectively raise business risks associated with data quality
