The Role
As the Director, Supplier Quality and Analytics, you will have the responsibility and authority to develop, establish, monitor, and maintain supplier quality lifecycle management programs, policies, processes, procedures and controls ensuring that supplier performance and quality of products conform to established standards and agency guidelines to ensure lasting customer satisfaction. In addition, this position will analyze complaint data to drive Quality data analytics to identify opportunities in product quality improvements and make data driven decisions. This position can be based in either Chicago or remotely from home.
Responsibilities
- Total ownership of supplier quality through the entire life cycle, from initial sourcing through development, tooling and industrialization phases as well as product launch and ongoing business management.
- Provide supplier quality leadership and vision to enable the organization’s short and long-term objectives
- Enhance supplier quality strategy in partnership with Procurement on category management and business strategy
- Evaluate and qualify new suppliers and maintain Approved Supplier List.
- Provide guidance on supplier scorecard metrics to procurement team
- Drive quality issues with suppliers to determine root cause, identify and implement corrective and preventive actions
- Audit key suppliers for quality, regulatory compliance, and productivity improvement opportunities
- Develop strong supplier partnerships
- Follow lean six sigma methodologies to identify and execute continuous improvement projects
- Help select appropriate suppliers with the right qualifications to meet GTI’s expectations and timeline
- Define and analyze all levels of quality data and extract useful statistics and insights about failures in order to drive meaningful improvements to production quality and customer experience
- Review customer complaint data to determine if internal investigation is required.
- Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports
- Monitor key product metrics, understanding root cause(s) of changes in metrics
- Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets and depict the story via dashboards and reports
- Drive underlying data systems improvement by working with key cross-functional stakeholders
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Engineering or related Supplier Quality industry experience
- 10+ years’ experience in medical device, pharmaceutical or food manufacturing, with responsibility for a broad spectrum of Supplier Quality, Procurement, or Purchasing elements
- Experience with Procurement/Purchasing is a plus
- Strong quality system auditing and assessment skills
- Strong written and verbal skills as well as project/program management capabilities
- Preferred Certification: ASQ SQE, PMP, Lean Six Sigma Greenbelt, Exemplar Global Lead Auditor
- Be analytical and comprehensive understanding of basic quality toolbox (8D root cause analysis, control and inspection standards, basic statistics, etc.)
- Ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
- Open-minded self-starter with the ability to adapt, improvise and problem solve, as well manage multiple tasks and projects and concisely explain complex issues supported with data. Team player with strong interpersonal skills

- GMP/GXP, GFSI/SQF, ISO 9001 or 13485 knowledge is preferred.

- Must have a solid understanding of the Cannabis laws, rules and regulations and passion to further their understanding and knowledge of the industry and the laws.

- Must pass any and all required background checks
- Must be and remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry
- Must possess valid driver’s license
- Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
- Must be approved by state badging agency to work in cannabis industry
