Lead, Solution Architecture - Artificial Intelligence
Job Description
As McDonald’s continues to innovate and disrupt the restaurant industry, we are looking to add a highly skilled, hands-on AI Technical Architect to join our growing Global Technology Development team. As the AI Technical Architect, you will be responsible for advising on the applicability of AI to specific business and technology opportunities fostering AI innovations, research and development, creating business cases and proof of concepts. You will oversee and partner with outsourced development teams to ensure that software is developed in a manner that leverages the best technologies, meets McDonald’s defined best practices and will be successful in a McDonald’s ecosystem.
This position will be based out of our growing Innovation Center in Romeoville, IL.
Responsibilities
What you’ll be doing:
·Serve as a technical subject-matter-expert for the application of AI / ML / voice capabilities within McDonald’s.
·Help to ensure partners understand how to successfully implement technologies in McDonald’s complex eco-system.
·Leading, planning, and managing at both strategic and operational programs while balancing near-term and long-term needs of the business and enterprise IT.
·Enabling programs to deliver and develop solutions (idea generation, solution development, business case analysis) where appropriate.
·Developing and evaluating business cases and the ability to effectively advocate for necessary investments.
·Perform technical testing and ensure that software is built to meet McDonald’s standards.
·Design and develop innovation POCs and fast fail ideas.
·Implement best practices in software development and virtual team collaboration.
·Improve documentation practices and partner with the Business Technical Analysts on the team to summarize detailed technical information into more contextual formats
Minimum Requirements
What you’ll need:
·Minimum of 7+ years of enterprise IT application experience, including at least 5 years of hands on experience in Big Data Solution Architecture, Hortonworks Hadoop, Azure Infrastructure and medium to large scale Data / Analytical solutions
·You have strong technical program and project management experience, preferably in application and systems integration, implementation, and deployment
·You have 5+ years of relevant industry experience - restaurant operations roles, restaurant strategy, restaurant technology, retail technology with increasing scale of responsibilities
·Technical expertise in 1-2 technical areas (e.g., software, robotics, natural language processing, cognitive applications, machine vision, data science, machine learning, hardware) in combination with practical understanding of all other areas
·Hands-on experience in or familiarity with the following or similar libraries: TensorFlow, Theano, Torch/PyTorch, Caffe, CNTK, or Chainer
·You have strong mobile application development experience
·Leadership or participation in prior artificial intelligence transformations strongly preferred
