Overview
The Retail Strategy Analyst plays an integral role in operating the Home Chef retail business. This role executes on deliverables across a wide range of initiatives, including supply forecasting, business optimization, merchandising, and menu development. The Analyst will work closely with a host of team members and cross-functional counterparts to drive business impact. Over time, this person will become one of the key players at Home Chef responsible for taking high value business insights and turning them into detailed action plans.
Responsibilities
Drive projects to improve Retail revenue

• Provide guidance and direction to the Retail team by asking the right questions at the right times


• Build models to inform decision making e.g. what meals should go in Retail stores? How much space should be allocated to each SKU?
  
  • Strong emphasis on cross-functional collaboration. For example, the Analyst would work closely with Culinary, New Product Development, and Operations on determining which meals go in Retail stores


• Provide weekly reporting and analyses on Retail performance to a range of audiences, including Home Chef Product Leadership

Drive projects to improve Retail profitability

• Identify the highest value opportunities to improve bottom line KPIs


• Develop detailed plans to execute on and bring opportunities to fruition


• Create ad-hoc materials for Home Chef and Kroger executives, informing discussions with data analysis, recommendations, and business insights

Manage Retail Production Inputs and Tactics

• Provide insights for and write purchase orders to third party suppliers


• Manage retail production inputs, including pricing and costs, fulfiller mapping, retail menus, and packaging creation


• Identify areas for process improvement in collaboration with technology teams, informing the prioritization, scope, and project plans for value add initiatives

Retail data, analytics, and value add insights

• Become a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on retail data and analytics


• Build automated dashboards in Google Sheets, Looker, etc. to inform high value retail decisions


• Refine retail data and reporting, working closely with data, business analytics, and technology teams to identify and prioritize new opportunities to improve tools and processes

Qualifications

• Completion of a four-year degree program in a related field
• 0-2 years of experience
• Self-starter, eager to learn, collaborative, and seeking to gain valuable hands-on experience
• Intellectually curious and data-driven, with a strong interest in the food and/or retail spaces
• Results driven, active problem solver with a natural desire to get things done
• Professional communication and relationship building skills, ability to influence cross-functional partners
• Ability to conduct analyses using Excel and Google Sheets

Salary range: $68000 - $75000
