Risk and Control Analyst

What will your day look like?
You will create and execute remediation plans for issues arising from internal/external reviews or business self- identification. They will work with the various businesses to create ongoing monitoring practices and develop independent monitoring plans to review business processes, products, and services for adherence to internal policies and standards; and compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. The Risk and Control Analyst will work with employees of the business to develop remediation plans, validation of remediation efforts, and to confirm monitoring results. Additionally, the analyst will be responsible for providing key stakeholders timely and accurate reporting on the status of all risk related issues and events.
Responsibilities

- Work with all lines of business to ensure that all Risk Issues and Events are comprehensively captured and closed within established target dates
- Develop and implement standards and policies appropriate for the business that conform to the principles and policies established by Risk Management
- Develop, execute, and validate remediation plans for assigned business areas, products, and services at the credit union or third parties
- Analyze issues to determine root cause and provide recommendations for remediation plans to management and business
- Follow written policies, standards, and procedures for how the remediation and monitoring programs are designed to function
- Complete assigned monitoring according to monitoring plan schedule
- Work closely with internal partners to identify process gap
- Work as an agent on the businesses behalf when working with the 2nd and 3rd lines of defense
- Write clear issue statements and develop effective remediation plans
- Provide clear and concise remediation status reports
- Design effective controls and monitoring plans
- Deliver results and potential findings from monitoring activities to members of management
Qualifications
What makes you a great fit?
You’ll be a great fit if in addition to the completion of a high school diploma, Bachelor’s degree preferred, 3+ years of experience in a testing, audit or quality control background, preferably in the financial services industry, and you have:
- 5 + years risk and compliance experience preferably in Financial Services industry
- Broad knowledge of financial services and industry best practices for continuously improving a Business Risk Management Function is necessary for this role
