Position Type: Permanent

Provide premium database administration support and services to Ensono mainframe clients as they relate to DB2 LUW.
 

Qualifications:

• More than 10 years of experience in Database administration

• Solid understanding of Database technology

• Extensive Database performance tuning experience

• Deep knowledge of industry-standard, enterprise-class best practices for a large database environment

• Good understanding of AIX, and Intel platforms

• Deep understanding of HADR Database and storage technologies like Data replication, TSM, etc

• Experience implementing, supporting and auditing database security

• Experience with Unix/Linux OS platform and Unix Shell scripting and automation

 

Secondary Skills:

• Experience with installing, upgrading, configuring, integrating, tuning, and securing DB2 LUW instances in an AIX environment.

• Experience with database management tools, products, vendors, and methodologies.

• Knowledge of database object design, stored procedures, UNIX scripting.

• Knowledge of Unix operating systems, DB2 LUW transaction log management, TSM backup strategies, and security configuration using LDAP.

• Knowledge of administering advanced DB2 database functions including High Availability (HADR) and Q-Replication.

• Knowledge of DB2 Connect.

• Base knowledge of TSA-MP.

• Works efficiently under conditions of multiple deadlines and changing priorities to produce high quality material with meticulous attention to detail

• Strong customer service orientation in both internal and external interactions, and looks for opportunities to provide the highest quality service

• Builds methods for measuring effectiveness of processes to meet business objectives

• Manages appropriate metrics to measure process towards meeting quality standards for corporation

• Anticipates, recognizes and resolves issues

• Pro-active monitoring and problem resolution

• Evaluates and documents procedures

• Strong organizational and analytical skills

• Scripting experience

• Integrates complex data and synthesize results, evaluates the quality of the data, identifies critical process variables and provides recommendations based on results

• High degree of creative thinking

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
