Sr. Data Developer

| Chicago
Home Chef is building new ways to provide meal solutions that meet a wide variety of customer needs, and shipping locations both online and in store. Our team is a unique mix of creators, chefs, entrepreneurs, and trailblazers and we’re growing quickly. If you’re ready to be part of the action, we’re ready to connect with you. There are no limits to where we can go together.
Home Chef is looking to hire an experienced Data Developer to join our Business Analytics team in building out our data warehouse as well as our analytical capabilities as a team.

  • Guiding the team in planning the tactical approaches, including the appropriate set of transformations and entities, to model out the various data needs of stakeholders
  • Directly building and maintaining the codebase underlying the most complex parts of our data model
  • Working with various parties around the organization to design how to best surface data in our data warehouse to reporting, analytics, and visualization tools
  • Meeting with stakeholders to deeply understand needs of their teams

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of working in a data focused role
  • Flexible, pragmatic, value-add, stakeholder-oriented mindset
  • At least a few years of experience in the data modeling space with deep understanding of tradeoffs and key decisions teams can make
  • Highly proficient in SQL
  • Well versed in a general purpose programming language, preferably Python
  • Experience working with various BI tools and Google Sheets
  • Experience utilizing workflow management platforms like Airflow preferred
  • Understanding of AWS resourcing, specifically S3 and EC2/EMR preferred
