Position Summary

As leader of the Rx Claim Platform Integrity team, you will be expected to be proficient in all critical functions of the application development, platform specific systems and tools, and champion policies and procedure with a deep understanding of best practices to ensure that application(s) and system stability is maintained. This team directly impacts the lives of our pharmacy customers by creating systems that process prescriptions. The systems we work with process millions of scripts a day and is business critical. You can work knowing you are helping many people each day.

The IT Development Senior Manager position exists to successfully support projects / initiatives in an information technology (IT) department. You will coordinate individual or team activities with CVS Health and vendor staff resources. You will provide guidance and direction to project teams and direct reports on technical and functional standards and practice, process and procedures, and career development. You will participate in annual budgeting, capital processes and quality improvement activities for the organization.

**We prefer candidates be hybrid in Richardson, TX but can consider other hubs or remote for the right person.

You will:

  • Provide leadership and guidance to a team of IT professionals in establishment and execution of database and application strategy ensuring platform integrity and stability.

  • Align the RxClaim data resources for growth; enhance the long-term value of our data assets by advocating sound data architecture and ensuring on-going integrity for the DB2i database.

  • Facilitate the design, continued update of technical training, onboarding, and architectural documentation specific to IBMi RxClaim domain and delivery.

  • Maintain and enhance communication of common standards for database and release level deliverables.

  • Provide for efficient and accurate release staging and environment build related activities supporting development, change management and DBA tasks.

  • Collaborate with development and support teams to continually improve code release quality through the documentation of root cause and defect elimination plans for release level issues

  • Monitor and track RxClaim performance metrics and continue to enhance capabilities to support this objective.

  • Maintain an inventory of internal development tools and facilitate the ongoing maintenance of those tools.

  • Influence and support IBMi modernization objectives as well as implementing automation and retooling solutions where appropriate within the scope of ownership of the Platform Integrity Team.

  • Support process and tool enhancements that will enable continuous improvement & continuous delivery (CI / CD) where appropriate within the scope of ownership of the Platform Integrity Team.

  • Effectively delegate work to team members; challenge team members to develop as leaders while serving as a role model and mentor.

  • Plan for and acquire team resource needs, making the most effective use of people involved with the objectives of the Platform Integrity Team– this entails day-to-day team management, team communication, identifying and leveraging strong skills while developing others to work collaboratively with other teams and understanding how to obtain consensus across multiple departments and across groups with sometimes conflicting priorities.

  • Monitor and manage the teams’ processes and track progress against milestones, deadlines and budgets. The administration of time management includes assignment of forecast and tracking, time/expense reconciliation and enforcement of time entry standards within the team.

Resource Management

  • You will set yearly goals focusing on career development. Discuss and layout plan of action to achieve goals and expectations.

  • You will perform periodic assessment of CVS and vendor resources.

  • Provide formal and informal feedback to address gaps in performance (functional, technical, and soft skills).

  • You will perform mid-year and year end assessment.

  • Provide comprehensive feedback on strengths and development areas oversee, review, and act on time sheets for CVS and vendor resource to ensure compliance.

  • You will actively participate in recruitment and selection processes for both CVS and vendor candidates, as well as lead onsite and offshore vendor relationships.

  • Commitment to ensuring teams adheres to the highest degree of integrity and Code of Conduct standards.

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of progressive Information Technology experience including leadership and development management experience.

  • 5+ years of experience leading large or multiple application teams to deliver projects and initiatives effectively.

  • 8+ years of experience in information technology principles, development methodologies and use of platforms/applications or software products

  • 8+ years of experience mentoring and supervising full time employees work and career development, as well as onsite and offshore vendor relationships.

  • 8+ years of experience in handling customer expectations and relationship building.

  • 5+ years of IBMi development and/or system operations experience including understanding of operating system, support tools, and DB2i

  • Experience in Synon and ALDON.

  • Strong written and verbal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • BS in Computer Science & Engineering or related STEM field, prefer MS degree.

  • Health Care and PBM background

Education
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$118,450.00 - $236,900.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.  This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
