Overview

The Director of Quantum & Delay oversees a team that is responsible for generating new opportunities, proposing capture strategies, and strengthening client relationships. In addition to external relationships, the Director of Quantum & Delay will be responsible for building internal relationships and maintaining Rimkus’ technical and cost capabilities to service high-value, time element delay construction claims. 

This person must have Insurance Claims Experience Claims specific to Delay start-up and Builders Risk (sometimes called Business Interruption)

The Salary Range for this position is $185,000.00 - $225,000.00 and is dependent on education, experience, location and certifications/licensure.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Business Development, Marketing and Client Management
  • Develops and leads business development strategies to identify new business opportunities within existing and new clients.
  • Prepares and delivers presentations to customers at all leadership levels.
  • Eloquently explains complex issues in simple form and demonstrates the ability to be understood by a diverse audience
  • Drives negotiations with clients to ensure the terms and conditions are mutually satisfactory for Rimkus and their valued customers.
  • Develop client relationships based on trust, anticipate changes in their needs, and proactively work to prevent conflict. 
  • Leads in-house training for clients or prospective clients and external training and seminar events.
  • Oversees respective rate structure, proposes changes as necessary, and helps team members maximize individual composite rates.

People Management

  • Leads a multi-disciplined team (Quantum, Delay, Technical) of consultants at all levels to achieve targeted financial objectives, including but not limited to revenue, billing efficiency, and profit. 
  • Brings new insight and motivation to support the development of others and coaches/mentors team members to understand their individual needs and learning styles. 
  • Objectively assesses team members and constructively works with employees to close their learning and development gaps.
  • Understands growth paths for each team member and steer their development to support their career at Rimkus.  
  • Actively works to maximize collaboration across disciplines and regions and demonstrates the ability to bring people together through sharing knowledge and ideas.
  • Sets the right examples to others by taking personal responsibility for creating high levels of motivation and engagement.
  • Proactively represents a positive and inclusive company, including culture, reputation, and financial success.
  • Seek opportunities to maximize the efficiency of AR collection process and assist with debt collection and invoice validation as necessary.
  • Train and ensure the team is following proper Time Entry and WIP protocols

Job Management

  • Manages all aspects of the incoming jobs, including methodology, scope definition, client expectations, timelines, and budget. Proactively consults with internal Rimkus experts’ network to provide the most comprehensive solutions. 
  • Coordinates the execution of multiple jobs across multiple team members at once and ensures the distribution of work is balanced across team members.

Report Writing and Technical Competencies

  • Prepares their technical expert reports and client strategy recommendations
  • Identifies and selects appropriate methodologies for inclusion in claim assessment
  • Acts as final reviewer for teams RFP’s and job submissions
  • Write articles for publication

Required Education and Professional Accreditations:

  • Possess a BS degree in Engineering, Architecture or Construction Management 
  • MS a plus
  • Certification as a Planning and Scheduling Professional (PSP) from the AACE a plus
  • Previous management experience
  • Experience within project controls/project management with major capital construction projects
  • Contractual dispute experience
  • Experience within multiple sectors specifically including onshore/offshore construction, oil and gas, petrochemical and renewables
  • Proficient in scheduling software
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products
  • Technical Writing experience
  • Testifying experience
  • Experience with estimating software a plus
  • Experience with Builders Risk policies including Delay in Start Up and Business Interruption
  • Experienced expert, recognized as an industry leader and has served in panel discussions at industry events.
  • Proven ability to drive high levels of repeat business
  • Confident public speaker who seeks out opportunities to promote Rimkus to larger audiences. 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS, OVERTIME, and TRAVEL: 

Physical Demands – Work will be performed both in an office setting and at outside locations (i.e., Client’s office, industrial, construction, and/or residential sites). Employee is frequently required to stand, sit, climb ladders, bend, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, hear, and drive a motor vehicle to job sites. Employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds of equipment. Employee must be attentive, focused, and alert when conducting site inspections, speaking, and interacting with clients, preparing drawings and written reports. Clear vision and depth perception are also necessary.

Overtime – This position is classified as salaried with an exempt FLSA status. Regular working hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with one hour for lunch. There will be periods where overtime will be required, which the employee will need to comply with to meet the demands of the position.

Travel Requirements – This position requires up to 25% travel.  Some out-of-area and overnight travel may be required
