Position Overview: 

The Deployment Engineer is a customer‑facing technical role responsible for the successful deployment, configuration, and operational support of complex software solutions across on‑premises, cloud, and hybrid environments. This role works cross‑functionally with Engineering, Product, Sales, and Customer Success to ensure solutions are delivered in a secure, scalable, and production‑ready manner. 

This position aligns with Deployment Engineer, Implementation Engineer, or Customer‑Facing DevOps Engineer roles commonly found at leading technology companies and emphasizes hands‑on execution, automation, and operational excellence.            

Requirements
  • Deploy, configure, upgrade, and support software solutions within customer environments, including pre‑deployment readiness validation and post‑deployment verification 
  • Collaborate with Agile development teams and internal stakeholders to implement robust, secure, and scalable technical solutions 
  • Act as a technical point of contact for customers during deployment and onboarding activities 
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues across application, infrastructure, networking, and cloud platforms 
  • Implement and maintain environments using automation, configuration management, and infrastructure‑as‑code best practices 
  • Ensure all deployments adhere to organizational standards, security requirements, and industry best practices 
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including deployment guides, runbooks, installation procedures, and architecture diagrams 
  • Participate in incident response, root‑cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives 
  • Support system upgrades, migrations, and infrastructure optimizations 
  • Travel to customer locations to support onsite deployments, troubleshooting, and customer engagement as required 

Technical Knowledge & Skills 

  • Linux/Unix and Windows system administration 
  • Networking fundamentals including DNS, firewalls, VPNs, routing, and secure connectivity 
  • Programming and scripting languages including Python, SQL, Bash, PowerShell, Ruby, or Go 
  • Container and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes 
  • Infrastructure automation and configuration management tools including Terraform and Ansible 
  • Cloud platforms including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform 

Basic Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience 
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Deployment Engineering, DevOps Engineering, or a related technical role 
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working with cloud‑native technologies (AWS, Azure, or GCP) 
  • Minimum 2 years of system administration experience in Linux/Unix and Windows environments 
  • Minimum 2 years of networking experience in enterprise or customer‑facing environments 
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong customer‑service orientation 
  • Process‑driven with strong documentation and organizational skills 
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 70% 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • 4+ years of experience with coding and scripting languages (Python, SQL, Bash, PowerShell, Perl, or Ruby) 
  • 4+ years of experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) 
  • 4+ years of experience using infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform or Ansible 
  • 4+ years of experience supporting production systems in cloud, hybrid, or enterprise environments 
  • Experience working within Agile or Scrum‑based delivery models 
  • Experience delivering solutions in regulated or government environments
