Job Description

As Design Lead for the Data Intelligence Capability, you will join our global design organization and help define and execute AI initiatives across our unified observability platform. You'll be working with a cross-functional design team as we integrate artificial intelligence capabilities seamlessly into the fabric of our product.

About the Data Intelligence Capability

The Data Intelligence capability at Dynatrace drives innovation focusing on anomaly detection, forecasting, and predictive modeling across the Dynatrace platform. It powers core features, enabling intelligent automation and deep insights from observability data.

Key responsibilities include:

• Developing scalable AI models for anomaly detection and forecasting using DQL and Grail
• Delivering user-facing tools such as the Anomaly Detection App, Conversational Recommender, and CoPilot Skill Workers
• Supporting strategic initiatives like Unified Data Ingest and Data Observability
• Collaborating across engineering, product, and design to shape the future of agentic AI experiences
• The capability is central to delivering business-critical insights, improving system health visibility, and enabling next-generation AI experiences for Dynatrace customers.

Your Design Leadership Impact

You'll collaborate closely with product management, engineering, and data science teams to ensure AI capabilities enhance rather than complicate user workflows, establishing design patterns and interaction models that scale across multiple product areas while maintaining Dynatrace's commitment to precision and reliability.

Your Role

Design Strategy & Vision

• Define and execute the design strategy for AI -powered experiences across the Platform
  solution, ensuring alignment with business objectives and user needs.
• Lead the design evolution of Copilot and future AI initiatives, establishing foundational
  interaction patterns for conversational AI within enterprise observability workflows
• Collaborate with product management to influence AI feature roadmaps through user-
  centered design insights and strategic design thinking.

Leadership Experience

• 8+ years of product design experience in enterprise software, with 3+ years in design leadership roles.
• Proven track record of leading design strategy for complex, multi-faceted product areas.
• Experience mentoring designers and fostering design excellence within fast-paced, technical environments.

AI Design Expertise

• 2+ years of hands-on experience designing AI-powered features, conversational interfaces, or intelligent automation tools.
• Deep understanding of AI/LLM capabilities and limitations, including prompt engineering, context management, and model integration considerations.
• Portfolio showcasing real-world AI product experiences with clear reasoning behind design decisions and business impact.

Enterprise Software Fluency

• Strong systems thinking ability with experience designing for complex, data-heavy enterprise workflows.
• Understanding of observability, monitoring, or analytics domains (preferred but not required).
• Experience working within design systems and contributing to scalable design solutions.

Collaboration & Communication

• Excellent communication skills with ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and present design strategies to leadership.
• Comfortable working in ambiguous environments where AI capabilities and user needs are continuously evolving.
• Experience partnering with product managers, engineers, and data scientists to translate technical possibilities into user value.

• We offer attractive compensation packages and stock purchase options with numerous benefits and advantages.
• Due to legal reasons, we are obliged to disclose the minimum salary for this position, which is € 80.000 gross per year based on full-time employment. We offer a higher salary in line with qualifications and experience.
