Director of Instructional Design
We are looking for a senior leader to join our Chicago team as a Director of Instructional Design/Program Management. You should have experience leading multi-team engagements. You may have previously held titles such as Director, Senior Manager, or Program Manager. As a visionary and manager responsible for the overall success of these engagements, you’ll align the teams with our clients’ goals and outline a path to achieve them. Through your leadership, you’ll establish the proper structure, practices, tools, and support for your team’s success as well as all parties involved. You would helm a growing department at a company that is also rapidly expanding which requires adaptability.
We want to work with someone just as excited about driving change with digital solutions, and are looking for someone who has:
- Led multiple large projects simultaneously, in the spirit of Servant Leadership and hands-on as needed.
- Mastered Agile methodologies, artefacts, ceremonies and best practices -- with the ability to communicate and teach processes effectively to teams and clients.
- Utilized application lifecycle management software such as JIRA.
- Coached/mentored team members, helping them to unlock their potential.
- Mastered Enterprise software delivery, including the ability, manage a client’s transition from analogue to digital.
- A keen sense for predicting delivery issues and risks, accompanied by methodical remediation to remove blockers and drive continuous improvement.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills, with a track record of applying your understanding of healthy team dynamics in order to develop high-performing teams.
- 5+ years of project delivery experience, in the role of Program Manager, and/or Project Manager.
- 5+ years of managing teams.
You’ll be working with industry experts to pave the future of digital transformation in the education space. Your responsibilities will include:
- Facilitating all necessary meetings at the program level - program demos, and program governance / weekly status meetings with clients.
- Coaching the team in timeline estimation, cross-functionality, and self-organization.
- Identifying, managing, and mitigating project issues and risks.
- Supporting and educating the Program Owner, especially defining and prioritizing the team's backlog of work
- Ensuring transparency in the team’s work.
- Leading by example - knowing when and how to push for more results.
- Proactively identifying and removing impediments (i.e. blockers, risks, and issues) that interfere with the ability of the team to deliver commitments.
- Being the coach and all-around advocate between the project team and client stakeholders.
