Zoro Tools is hiring a Graphic Designer for our marketing group located in our Buffalo Grove, IL office. We are looking for entrepreneurial-minded talent that thrives in a collaborative environment focusing on collective solutions that drive additional business and continually improves the customer experience.

We are seeking an experienced designer to join our Brand Development team of eCommerce marketing and design professionals. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker and problem solver who can utilize existing email templates, but also continue to evolve our offering and approach based on current trends and industry best practices. In addition to e-mail, this role could also include design and development for other marketing assets such as print, direct mail, social media, banner ads, and more. This person will work closely with 2 other senior designers in a newly created role to expand our ability to brainstorm, evolve and execute new ideas and solutions.

This person is ideally someone who has previous experience coding responsive HTML and is passionate about innovation in the digital world. This role requires conceptual and creative thinking, as well as strong technical precision required to design and produce compelling content. As a team member of the Brand Development Team, the Graphic Designer will be responsible for overall efforts to design, develop, and deploy a variety of content campaigns to support broader brand building. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and have respect for consistency, but most of all, will absolutely love solving problems through design.

Job Responsibilities:

The Graphic Designer’s responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Responsible for the conception, creation, development and design of content for a variety of campaigns and related marketing pages. Includes file management and asset delivery.
  • Partner with Zoro Marketing Team to understand and plan monthly deliverables.
  • Develop and deliver creative that meets business objectives.
  • Responsible for prioritizing work to meet deadlines and respond to critical business shifts.
  • Ensure graphical alignment of email, home pages, banners, interactive components, and select social media.
  • Follow best practices for brand guidelines, to ensure projects adhere to specifications and standards.
  • Partner with graphic designers on special projects as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Graphic Design.
  • 2-4 years of experience, design/development experience hand-coding HTML, CSS for email campaigns
  • Adobe Creative Suite (Dreamweaver, Illustrator, and Photoshop) required
  • Proficient with ESP tools (ExactTarget/Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Responsys, or CheetahMail)
  • Previous experience testing and troubleshooting in multiple browsers or email clients with a strong sense of email design and user experience fundamentals
  • Experience with content management systems
  • Experience designing for responsive and mobile websites
  • Team player and ability to work effectively with multiple cross-functional groups
  • Strong communication skills: oral, written, plus the ability to communicate with a wide range of people and behavior styles.
  • Outstanding organizational skills and ability to manage several project simultaneously
  • Results driven and able to meet multiple deadlines
  • Detail oriented and organized.
  • Excellent command of the English language

As a Financial Analyst with Zoro’s Finance team, my typical day starts with generating daily sales reports and sending it over to our headquarters.
