Directs and designs Discover’s marketing communications on assigned business lines by applying innovative thinking, ideation, leadership, concept development, and functional expertise. Creates fresh, conceptually strong concepts that generate new customers, sell products/services, and enhance a unified customer experience across all media.
Responsibilities
Attends project briefings and collaborates with the Creative Team to direct and design creative across a variety of channels, including print, digital, video, radio, social/content.
Effectively disseminates client and legal changes and incorporates changes into creative, while complying with company/department requirements, policies, and processes.
Owns project details and ensures work is free of errors in fact, style, or presentation prior to submitting to Business Partners.
Be an expert at the file release process (both print and digital), creates unique bylines and approves proofs.
Pursues and participates in learning and skill development opportunities to further writing capabilities and brand expertise.
Manages time and produces consistently effective communications for multiple projects under tight deadlines.
Contributes to the conception, development, refinement, and execution of on-strategy, on-time, high-stopping power creative that delivers on the Creative Brief and Business Partner objectives/key performance indicators. Be a steward of the Discover Brand Standards and ensure all designs have one brand and one voice across all media.
Minimum Qualifications
At a minimum, here’s what we need from you:
Bachelor's Degree in Advertising, Graphic Design, or related field
Preferred Qualifications
If we had our say, we’d also look for:
A visual storyteller, a PowerPoint guru and proficient with other presentation platforms, visual media or technologies.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign)
Comfortable speaking with and gathering information from high-level subject matter experts to translate complex business concepts, data, information and content into easily digestible, high-end graphics and presentations.
Willingness to create diverse media (visuals, graphics, animation, and videos) to enrich our teams with their client and internal engagements
2+ years of experience in direction and design across a diverse portfolio and media, including presentations, print, digital, video and social/content.
Digital proficiency is a must.
Payments industry or B2B financial services design work is a plus.
Advertising agency experience is preferred.
Other capabilities: HTML5 familiarity (general understanding, not coding), familiarity with video production (directing/editing with vendors), Microsoft Suite (Office, PowerPoint, Word), Aftereffects a plus.
Project management experience a plus.
