Hireology’s technology empowers businesses to build great teams. Over the last ten years, we’ve grown from a startup to a market-leading organization with over 165 team members, and built an award-winning culture that makes this company an amazing place to work.

It is with that in mind that we are looking to hire a talented UI Designer to join our User Experience team to drive the visual and interactive experiences across our desktop and mobile app. As part of our UX team, you would be joining a passionate, collaborative, and supportive group of individuals dedicated to improving our users’ experience. You will collaborate closely with UX designers, Product Managers, and Engineering to translate requirements into beautiful and usable interfaces as well as maintain and enhance our pattern library and help define and advance our overall UI strategy.

As our UI Designer, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Understanding and building upon Hireology’s visual identity and design language
  • Translating Product and UX requirements into useful, usable, and desirable interfaces, while considering research findings, scope limitations, and technical parameters
  • Evaluating and setting best practices, visual design standards, and accessibility standards
  • Owning, managing, and enhancing our unified, flexible design system
  • Working with Marketing on a unified brand identity
  • Managing and creating illustrations, icons, and other UI and branding assets
  • Producing interactive prototypes and conducting usability tests in a rigorous, data-driven way

So what kind of person are we looking for in this role? We have a pretty unique culture here at Hireology, and the person who will be successful in this role will be:

  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Knows how to balance perfectionism with agile deliverables
  • Self-motivated to prioritize and manage workload and meet critical project deadlines
  • Shares new ideas that may improve our way of work
  • Appreciates feedback and a collaborative environment
  • Eager to grow and improve

Okay, we’ve laid out what the job is - now are you qualified? Below are the minimum qualifications we’re looking for in a UI Designer candidate. Also, we want a chance to get to know who you are and why you applied, so please include a cover letter.

  • A minimum of 3 years experience as a UI Designer, Product Designer, Visual Designer or Interaction Designer
  • Broad experience in designing web and mobile apps and creating lightweight prototypes for testing
  • Experience running usability tests with customers and translating findings into tangible actions
  • Fluency in best practices for web and mobile app design, as well as a strong knowledge of usability principles and techniques
  • Proficiency in Figma, Illustrator, and other design and prototyping tools
  • A strong track record backed by an outstanding portfolio showcasing latest works
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and remotely

So what can you expect after you apply? You will:

  • Take a brief true/false survey. Be sure to check your email after submitting your application
  • Have a phone conversation with someone on our Recruiting team. This is a high-level conversation about you, but also a good opportunity for you to learn more about us
  • Meet with various members of our UX, Product, and FFE teams
  • Provide us with some references. We use our automated reference check system for this, so you just give us some names, they fill out a survey, and we are all set
  • Speak with a member of our senior leadership team. If you have made it this far, just be yourself, and everything will be fine
