So, what’s the role?
When it comes to insurance, customers deserve better and it’s our mission at Kin to change that. It’s that obsession with customer experience that lies at the heart of this role. As Head of User Experience, you will lead a team responsible for the design of Kin, create a top quality experience for our customers, and be a voice for our users backed by extensive user research, planning and delivery. From owning the Kin brand to being the ultimate advocate for the customer, the Head of UX will shape the customer journey across all facets of our business.
A day in the life could include:
- Direct the development, testing and evaluation of results for, prototypes and templates for proposed changes and updates
- Partners with leadership in marketing, product management and development to communicate and ideat goals to enhance the user’s experience and ensure those ideas are created and implemented with the correct look and functionality.
- As a leader, you will be responsible for nurturing career goals for each team member, maximize team growth and collaboration, serve as a mentor, and promote and foster additional skills of each team member
- Implementing our UX vision and principles that can be applied across all aspects of the product
- Proactively performing customer research to identify customer pain points and opportunity areas
- Ideating innovative new products and features with internal stakeholders based on customer research
- Ensuring a consistent, delightful experience across the entire customer journey from marketing to purchase to servicing, regardless of channel
- Owning and maintaining Kin UI patterns and design systems across all touch points
- Establishing KPIs for defining the relationship with customers
- Owning the Kin brand, from visual identity to the voice and personality of customer interactions
- Being the ultimate advocate for the customer
I’ve got skills...but do I have the necessary ones?
- Successful leadership of UX/UI or product design teams for digital B2C companies
- Experience scaling and structuring a team
- Proven positive leadership skills and raising the creative bar for our team
- Strong project management and communication skills
- Partnering with Product Managers and Engineering to design and deliver industry-leading products.
- Strong knowledge of various design tech and software and ability to conceptualize and deliver new approaches to design
- A strong eye for detail and design skill set to match
- Experience in various user testing methodologies to empathize with current and future customers
- Experience advocating the "voice of the customer" within a growing organization
- Ability to identify and create the right fidelity of design for the right stage of product development, including prototypes
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment where priorities change quickly
- Experience making complex and data-heavy products simple and delightful to use (fintech, insurtech, or P&C insurance experience are a plus)
