Job Description Summary:

The Digital Content Specialist is Responsible for creating, managing, and optimizing engaging and informative content across our B2B eCommerce platform, BREAKTHRU NOW, and through customer email marketing to enhance the customer experience and drive sales, while also supporting Breakthru’s supplier partners by promoting their priority brands and campaigns.
This role will utilize SAP SmartEdit, SAP Emarsys, and FullStory to deliver targeted content, analyze user behavior, and personalize customer journeys.

Job Description:

Job Responsibilities:

  • Content Creation & Management:
    • Develop, write, edit, and publish high-quality B2B content, including email marketing campaigns for Breakthru customers and onsite promotional copy for BREAKTHRU NOW.
    • Partner with Digital & eCommerce Content Manager and Digital Strategy leadership team to build and update the content calendar and ensure timely execution of content strategies.
    • Develop, publish, and manage content within SAP Commerce Cloud's SmartEdit, utilizing its features to create and customize promotional content and display accurate product and information on BREAKTHRU NOW.
  • eCommerce Platform Optimization:
    • Manage and optimize the eCommerce platform using SmartEdit to ensure a seamless customer journey from product discovery to purchase.
    • Collaborate with design and development teams to enhance website visuals and functionality.
  • Customer Engagement & Personalization:
    • Utilize SAP Emarsys to create and deliver targeted email campaigns, newsletters, and other promotional content.
    • Segment customer data within Emarsys to personalize offers and tailor content for different customer segments.
    • Drive effective upselling and cross-selling through personalized product recommendations, including through automated email workflows and website content, such as pop-ups.
    • Analyze customer behavior data from FullStory to understand user interactions and optimize the online experience.
  • Analytics & Reporting:
    • Monitor and analyze performance metrics using analytics tools and insights from FullStory and Emarsys to understand customer behavior, onsite engagement, and sales trends.
    • Provide data-driven recommendations for content and platform improvements.
  • Collaboration & Communication:
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including B2B eCommerce, IT, and supplier leadership and trade/sales teams.
    • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Other duties, as assigned by the jobholder’s supervisor, may also be required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism or related field
  •  2-5 years professional experience in marketing, communications, journalism or related field
  • Proven experience in B2B eCommerce content creation and management
  • Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills
  • Analytical skills and the ability to interpret data to inform decisions
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills a must
  • Relevant cross-functional experience (marketing, digital agency, advertising, project management)
  • Must be available to cover evening and weekend events as they arise

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience with SAP Commerce Cloud's SmartEdit
  • Proficiency in using SAP Emarsys, Salesforce, or similar platforms for email marketing, segmentation, and personalization
  • Experience utilizing FullStory, Google Analytics, or similar platforms for analyzing user behavior and optimizing the customer experience
  • Strong understanding of SEO best practices
  • Familiarity with marketing automation platforms

Salary and Benefit Statement:

Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data/ranges, applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience.

  • Salary Range: $63,000 - $73,000 
  • This position is eligible to participate in a bonus program. Metrics and level of participation are determined annually.
  • This position is eligible for health care benefits, life insurance, time off benefits, and participation in the Company’s 401(k) plan.
