Caterpillar's Strategic Procurement and Planning Division (SPPD) is seeking an experienced Order to Cash Digital Product Owner to lead the strategy, implementation, and governance of digital solutions enabling the order management process. This role will be responsible for managing digital solutions used to define product compatibility rules across legacy and modern ordering systems. This role will develop solutions to ensure seamless compatibility between engineering structures and sales offerings. Additional responsibilities include enabling advanced ordering processes that optimize logistics and simplify the commercial invoice processes.
What You Will Do:
The selected candidate will partner with the enterprise process owner to document business requirements, both functional and non-functional, to enable the business vision and ordering experience. They will develop a multi-year digital product roadmap to enable key business metrics. This role will partner with internal and external technology teams to design, build, and support digital solutions enabling product configuration rules, order management processes, outbound transportation, and equipment processing centers.
This role is responsible for:
  • Managing product backlog, including setting priorities and communicating delivery plans
  • Improve process efficiency through automation
  • Documenting business requirements for the technical team
  • Coordinating User Acceptance Testing with process teams and key end-users
  • Establishes and manages Service Level Agreements and compliance
  • Sets and manages the annual digital product budget
  • Partner with the process team to provide end-user training
  • Collaborate with the Digital Customer Support Manager to establish robust IT Service Management processes and solutions

What You Will Have:
  • Software Development Life Cycle: Experience and knowledge of developing and deploying software solutions. Ability to manage the software solution from concept to maturity.
  • Business Analysis: Knowledge of business analysis and the set of tasks, techniques and tools required to identify business needs; ability to recommend solutions that deliver value to stakeholders.
  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
  • Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
  • Software Product Business Knowledge: Knowledge of and experience with the business aspects and operation of a software product; ability to manage install base, current uses, future plans, and product vision.

Considerations For Top Candidates:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
  • SAP Variant Configuration experience, including complex model design, dependency logic (constraints, procedures, selection conditions), and production impacts (SuperBOMs/Routings)
  • Technical understanding of interface designs to publish product compatibility rules to consuming applications
  • Exposure to Siemens Teamcenter / PLM product configurator concepts and compatibility/usage rule governance
  • Knowledge of SAP Integrated Business Planning for characteristics‑based planning, or adjacent planning systems consuming compatibility data
  • Agile/Scrum experience with system enhancement delivery.
  • Strong leadership in working within a cross-functional organization to coordinate development, dependencies and risks for product delivery

Additional Details:
Location: This position is based in Mossville, IL and requires on-site presence five days per week.
Relocation: Domestic relocation assistance is not available.
Work Authorization: Visa sponsorship is not offered for this role.
Travel: This position may require up to 20% travel.
Summary Pay Range:
$144,960.00 - $235,440.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
