DIRECTOR, ANALYTICS & DATA ENGINEERING

LOCATION

This position is a remote, work-from-home role, as are all positions at Acceleration Partners (a structure central to our culture and vision to change the work/life paradigm). Some travel is required for client meetings, internal meetings, conferences, and other events.

THE ROLE

The Director, Analytics & Data Engineering is a senior leadership role that owns the vision, strategy, and outcomes of Acceleration Partners’ enterprise data and analytics capabilities. This role is responsible for defining how data is architected, governed, analyzed, and activated across the organization to support client outcomes, business decision-making, and long-term growth.

This is both an internally and externally facing role. The Director partners closely with executive leadership, Technology, Client Services, Marketing, Sales, and Operations to ensure data is leveraged as a strategic asset across AP. The role operates at a highly strategic level while remaining hands-on as needed, leading complex data and business conversations with senior stakeholders and C-level clients.

TOP 5 JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

LEAD, MANAGE, AND HOLD YOUR TEAM ACCOUNTABLE

Lead, coach, and develop the analytics and data engineering organization, ensuring clear accountability, strong performance, and ongoing talent development. Hire, onboard, and retain high-performing team members. Actively mentor leaders and build succession plans. Success is demonstrated through strong team engagement, effective collaboration, and consistently high-quality analytics delivery.

ENTERPRISE DATA STRATEGY & ARCHITECTURE

Own the enterprise data strategy, roadmap, and architecture in partnership with the CTO. Ensure data systems are scalable, secure, cost-effective, and future-ready. Anticipate business and client data needs and proactively align platforms, tools, and resources to support growth and innovation.

DATA GOVERNANCE, COMPLIANCE & RISK MANAGEMENT

Oversee data governance, hygiene, and management practices across the organization. Ensure appropriate security, privacy, compliance, and documentation standards are consistently applied. Proactively identify and mitigate data-related risks while enabling efficient cross-functional data usage.

DATA STORYTELLING, INSIGHTS & ENABLEMENT

Ensure data is transformed into clear, actionable insights that drive business and client outcomes. Guide teams in effective data visualization and storytelling to support decision-making and reinforce AP’s value proposition. Own analytics training and enablement strategies so teams can confidently leverage data tools and insights.

CLIENT & BUSINESS IMPACT

Partner with client teams and senior leaders to ensure analytics strategies directly support client growth, performance optimization, and enterprise initiatives. Serve as a trusted advisor in complex analytics and business strategy discussions, ensuring solutions are aligned with organizational goals and fiscal responsibility.

INTERNAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partner closely with Technology to align data architecture with enterprise systems and priorities
  • Collaborate with Client Services to elevate analytics-driven client experiences
  • Support Sales and Marketing with data-backed insights, storytelling, and thought leadership
  • Establish and refine analytics processes, tools, and operating rhythms
  • Identify and proactively mitigate data, technology, and operational risks
  • Represent the analytics and data engineering function in senior leadership discussions

The Director has established credibility with executive leadership and cross-functional partners, aligned stakeholders around a clear enterprise data vision, and assessed current data architecture and governance practices. Teams are aligned, priorities are clear, and early improvements in data consistency, insight quality, and enablement are visible.

AP’s data and analytics capabilities are operating at a mature, scalable level. Data governance and architecture are standardized and future-proofed, teams are delivering high-impact insights, and analytics is recognized internally and externally as a strategic differentiator for AP and its clients.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • 8+ years of progressive experience in analytics, data, or related roles
  • Experience leading analytics and/or data engineering teams in a client services or agency environment
  • Strong understanding of data architecture, governance, and compliance best practices
  • Expertise with data platforms, analytics tools, and visualization technologies (e.g., Power BI, Excel, etc.)
  • Data Warehouse experience, AWS/Redshift preferred
  • Affiliate and/or Influencer marketing industry experience preferred
  • Ability to communicate complex data concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Bachelor’s degree required
