What can you expect in a Director, Business Development (AI Services) role with TaskUs:

As a strategic driver of TaskUs’s expansion, you will spearhead growth within the U.S. AI ecosystem by acting as both a visionary hunter and a collaborative partner to our broader sales leadership team. You will work closely with vertical leads and help transform our GTM strategy. This role is uniquely designed for a builder who understands that the most complex AI transformations require multi-threaded pursuit strategies and a seamless hand-off between specialized expertise and sales ownership.

While maintaining a foundation in account management, you will function as a strategic orchestrator, co-developing high-value account plans and lending technical credibility to enterprise deals alongside your peers. Your success is measured not just by individual wins, but by your ability to augment the entire sales organization, cementing TaskUs as the premier partner for AI services through shared intelligence and collective victory. By cultivating deep community ties and acting as a bridge between internal product leaders and external stakeholders, you will ensure that every engagement is a synergistic effort that scales our presence across the most competitive sectors of the AI landscape.

Key Responsibilities:

New Business Development

In this role, you will act as a high-impact growth architect, aggressively helping scale the organization’s footprint through the acquisition of enterprise and high-growth AI logos. You will be responsible for identifying untapped market segments, engineering bespoke service solutions for complex AI lifecycles, and moving beyond transactional sales to build a vibrant community of industry advocates. By blending strategic outreach with a dominant presence at key industry forums, you will help transform our Go-To-Market vision into a robust pipeline of sustainable, Tier-1 partnerships.

Client Engagement

As a strategic partner to our clients, you will cultivate deep-rooted relationships with C-suite executives and AI pioneers to ensure our services align with their long-term innovation roadmaps. You will move beyond traditional account management to become a trusted advisor, bridging the gap between client vision and operational execution while positioning TaskUs as the indispensable partner for the AI lifecycle.

Collaboration

You will serve as the critical link between client vision and internal execution, partnering closely with our vertical selling teams, Solutioning and Operations teams to architect seamless, "white-glove" service models. By championing a unified end-to-end strategy, you will help ensure that every technical nuance of the AI lifecycle is captured and delivered with precision, providing a frictionless transition from the initial handshake to long-term operational excellence.

Market Analysis

You will stay attuned to the AI industry by tracking emerging trends and monitoring competitor activity to identify new growth opportunities. You’ll share these insights with the broader team to help keep our sales approach fresh and relevant in a fast-moving market.

Responsibilities

  • Spearhead the end-to-end sales cycle to secure high-value partnerships with enterprise organizations and high-growth AI startups across the United States.

  • Define and execute a targeted pursuit strategy for emerging AI sub-sectors, including LLM development, Computer Vision, and Generative AI innovators.

  • Collaborate with internal product and engineering teams to architect bespoke AI service solutions, including RLHF, adversarial testing, data curation, and model evaluation.

  • Build and maintain deep-rooted partnerships with CTOs, Heads of AI, and VP-level stakeholders to position the organization as a strategic extension of their engineering teams.

  • Act as a key stakeholder in the Go-To-Market process, translating market feedback into actionable sales tactics and refined service offerings.

  • Represent the organization as a thought leader and primary spokesperson at premier industry conferences, summits, and executive roundtables.

  • Manage a rigorous sales funnel with a data-driven approach, ensuring accuracy in forecasting and a consistent path to exceeding quarterly revenue targets.

  • Act as a frontline sensor for the organization, identifying shifts in the AI landscape, competitor positioning, and emerging client pain points.

  • Partner with Marketing, Operations, and Account Management to ensure a seamless transition from "signed deal" to "operational success" for all new clients.

  • Lead complex commercial negotiations, ensuring that agreements are mutually beneficial, scalable, and protective of the organization’s long-term interests.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in B2B account management in AI services, customer success, business development, or client services in AI organizations.

  • Ideally supporting enterprise accounts or high-growth startup organizations

  • Demonstrated ability to proactively generate new opportunities through relationship-building, in-person events, and ecosystem engagement.

  • Proven track record of managing and growing a portfolio of accounts with a structured and scalable approach

  • Experience working with technical or product-focused customers and translating their needs into talent or services solutions.

  • Energy and enthusiasm for participating in and helping shape the startup and AI community.

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills; comfortable operating in ambiguity while bringing structure through process and execution.

  • Data fluency, including experience using dashboards and metrics to inform strategy and performance.

  • Passion for delivering high-value customer experiences and aligning internal teams around client success.
