SUPERVISOR:          Chief Program Officer

JOB STATUS:            Full Time / Salary / Exempt 

SCHEDULE:               Sunday – Thursday / Flexible on-call; Evenings and Weekends Vary

LOCATION:               Keshet Camp Locations / Keshet Day School Office / Keshet Recreation Programs

 

HIGHLIGHTS:

As the Director of Recreation at Keshet, you would be responsible for the strategic leadership, growth, and operational oversight of all recreation and camp programs at Keshet.

Reporting to the Chief Program Officer, the Director will lead program staff in the coordination and administration of high-quality and inclusive programming.

You will oversee partnerships with community organizations and camps, and serves as a primary community ambassador for Keshet’s recreational and camping initiatives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Program Leadership & Management

  • Plan the delivery of the overall program and its activities in accordance with the mission and the goals of Keshet

  • Develop new initiatives to support the strategic direction of the organization

  • Develop and implement long-term goals and objectives to achieve the successful outcomes of the programs

  • Work with CFO to develop an annual budget and operating plan to support the program

  • Develop a program evaluation framework to assess the strengths of the program and to identify areas for improvement

  • Ensure growth and sustainability for camp and recreation programming

Organize the program

  • Ensure that program activities operate within the policies and procedures of the organization

  • Ensure that program activities comply with all relevant legislation, accreditations (NIP), and professional standards

  • Develop goals and metrics to determine programs success and sustainability

Lead the program

  • Ensure all staff members receive orientation and appropriate training in accordance with organizational standards

  • Supervise program staff by providing direction, input and feedback

  • Communicate with team members and other pertinent members to gain community support for the program and to solicit input to improve the program

  • Liaise with other Program Directors to ensure effective and efficient program delivery

  • Coordinate the delivery of services among different program activities to increase effectiveness and efficiency

Qualifications

ABOUT YOU!

  • Minimum of five years professional experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. 

  • Has had previous Director experience

  • Undergraduate degree required in a related service; Master's Degree preferred 

  • Knowledge of  special recreational programming 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; a persuasive and passionate communicator with excellent public speaking skills.

  • Adhere to Keshet policies and procedures outlined in the policy manual, Employee Handbook, and other employee policies.

  • Must have a valid driver's license and a criminal and motor vehicle record that meets company standards.

  • Possess passion, humility, integrity, positive attitude, mission-driven, and ability to self-direct.

  • Program development experience

  • Fiscal planning experience
