Job Description SummaryThe Global Clinical Strategy Director provides vision, leadership, and execution of clinical strategies that drive ultrasound/fluoroscopy product innovation, market adoption, and evidence generation across global markets.
This pivotal role bridges clinical expertise with business strategy to ensure products deliver exceptional clinical outcomes while maintaining competitive market positioning.
This position is a dual leadership and care pathway owner. This sub-business unit is known as our Surgical Visualization and Guidance team. SVG is committed to designing active imaging systems that help surgeons visualize anatomy and lesions, guide interventions and navigate inside the human body. Our Mission at SVG is to change the standard of care in surgical intervention with real time visual guidance, giving surgeons the information needed to immediately make critical decisions.

Job Description

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and execute comprehensive global clinical strategies aligned with company goals and market opportunities
  • Translate clinical insights into product requirements, working closely with Product Management and R&D from SVG as well as Surgery teams.
  • Identify emerging clinical trends and unmet needs that represent future growth opportunities
  • Partner with executive leadership to shape long-term product roadmap and portfolio strategy
     

Clinical Evidence Generation

  • Design and oversee global clinical research programs that demonstrate product efficacy, safety, and value
  • Establish clinical endpoints and study methodologies that resonate with key stakeholders
  • Manage relationships with clinical research organizations and principal investigators
  • Ensure clinical studies meet regulatory requirements across target markets
     

Medical Advisory Board Leadership

  • Establish, manage, and facilitate global and regional Medical Advisory Boards
  • Develop strategic agendas that maximize advisory board impact on product strategy
  • Recruit distinguished clinical experts across relevant specialties to serve as advisors
  • Synthesize advisory board insights into actionable recommendations for the organization
  • Facilitate ongoing engagement with advisors beyond formal meetings
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations regarding healthcare professional interactions
     

Market Development & Clinical Advocacy

  • Build and nurture relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) and clinical thought leaders
  • Develop clinical education programs that drive adoption of new ultrasound applications
  • Represent the company at major medical conferences and industry events
  • Collaborate with marketing to develop clinically compelling messaging and content
     

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead a team of clinical product managers and clinical research professionals
  • Foster a culture of clinical excellence, innovation, and customer-centricity
  • Develop team capabilities through mentoring, training, and career pathing
  • Create collaborative relationships with cross-functional teams including R&D, Marketing, and Sales
     

Business Impact

  • Translate clinical value into economic value propositions for various healthcare stakeholders
  • Monitor competitive clinical positioning and develop differentiation strategies
  • Contribute to pricing and reimbursement strategies based on clinical evidence
  • Provide clinical input to business development for partnership and acquisition opportunities
     

Qualifications:

Education & Experience

  • Advanced clinical degree (MD, PhD, MBBS, or equivalent) in relevant medical specialty
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in medical device or diagnostic imaging industry
  • Demonstrated success driving clinical strategy for global product portfolios
  • Experience leading clinical research programs and evidence generation
  • Ability to travel 40% of the time
     

Knowledge & Skills

  • Deep understanding of ultrasound applications across multiple clinical specialties
  • Strong knowledge of clinical workflow, healthcare economics, and care delivery models
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements for clinical evidence across major markets
  • Experience working with KOLs and clinical advocacy programs
     

Leadership Competencies

  • Strategic thinking with ability to translate vision into executable plans
  • Excellent cross-cultural communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Proven ability to influence without direct authority
  • Track record of developing high-performing teams
     

Business Acumen

  • Understanding of product lifecycle management and commercialization processes
  • Ability to balance clinical excellence with business objectives
  • Experience with budget management and resource allocation
  • Global perspective on healthcare markets and clinical practice variation

We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening. For U.S. based positions only, the pay range for this position is $168,000.00-$252,000.00 Annual. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the pay range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including skills, qualifications, experience and location. In addition, this position may also be eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). GE HealthCare offers a competitive benefits package, including not but limited to medical, dental, vision, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employee and company contribution opportunities, life, disability, and accident insurance, and tuition reimbursement.
