The Director Data Client Solutions is a strategic technical leader responsible for enabling revenue growth by bridging sales, analytics solution development, and delivery in our data-focused business. This role owns the ‘data-centric’ aspects of the relationship with prospects and clients- from initial discovery through solution design, sales enablement, and early customer success. The Director Data Client Solutions will be the data expertise layer that empowers our Account Executive team to win complex deals while ensuring seamless handoffs to delivery teams and empower our Account Management team to expand analytics solutions within existing partnerships.
ResponsibilitiesPre-Sales & Sales Enablement
Serve as the senior data and analytics authority in client calls, supporting Account Executives in discovery, scoping, and technical Q&A
Whiteboard solutions with prospects to translate business challenges into data architecture, analytics workflows, and technical approaches in real-time
Build quick-turn analyses and proofs-of-value using prospect data to demonstrate capabilities and differentiate our approach
Lead technical discovery sessions to understand data landscape, requirements, and success criteria
Conduct technical demos and POCs that showcase our platform and methodologies
Architect tailored analytics solutions spanning our verticals: data solutions, enterprise analytics, data science, clinical research
Enable Account Executives with data domain expertise, competitive intelligence, use case libraries, and technical talking points
Qualify opportunities from a technical feasibility and scope perspective
Build and maintain repeatable assets: own the development and continuous improvement of demo environments, reference architectures, quick-turn analysis templates, and case studies
Provide win/loss analysis and market feedback to inform product and platform strategy
Client Success & Delivery Transition
Define and own the framework for seamless handoffs to onboarding and client success teams including technical configuration support and knowledge transfer
Serve as the senior solutions authority in account management calls to support upsells and contract expansions by identifying opportunities and scoping additional work
Maintain strategic relationships with key clients, serving as the senior escalation point for complex technical conversations.
Bridge clients to analytics and data science teams when deeper exploratory work or specialized expertise is required
Support delivery teams on escalations or complex client conversations requiring consultative approach
Conduct business reviews with clients to demonstrate value and uncover expansion opportunities
Ensure ongoing account management teams have the technical context and documentation needed for client retention
Track client health metrics and proactively address technical concerns before they impact renewals
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Coordinate subject matter experts across data product, enterprise analytics, data science, and clinical research teams for pre-sales support
Participate in sales pipeline reviews and forecast discussions
Present quarterly insights on prospect trends, competitive landscape, and product gaps to leadership
Contribute to pricing and packaging strategy for data solutions
Basic Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in a data-oriented field (e.g. engineering, computer science, other STEM, etc.)
10+ years of experience in analytics, data engineering, or data science roles with hands-on technical delivery
3+ years leading client-facing engagements in consulting, pre-sales, or solutions architecture capacity
5+ years of people management experience or experience in roles showing progressive leadership
Proven track record supporting or influencing complex B2B sales cycles ($100K+ deal sizes preferred)
Deep expertise across the data lifecycle: data architecture, analytics, visualization, statistical modeling, and data product development
Ability to translate technical complexity into business value for non-technical executives
Strong solution design skills with experience scoping multi-month data initiatives
Excellent presentation and stakeholder management skills across technical and business audiences
Experience working in cross-functional environments with matrixed accountability
Self-directed with ability to manage competing priorities across sales and delivery needs
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in healthcare, life sciences, etc. or regulated data environments
Background in life sciences with exposure to real-world evidence, market access, patient access, and commercial functions
Familiarity with modern data stack tools: Google Cloud, Looker, Gemini, Claude Code.
Prior experience building sales engineering or solutions architecture functions from scratch
Management consulting or advisory background
Track record of contributing to product strategy based on market insights
