Kroll is seeking a Director, Data Governance to lead and scale the Data Governance sub capability within our Cyber & Data Resilience practice. This is a senior, client facing leadership role responsible for building market leading data governance offerings, developing high performing teams, and driving commercial growth across regulated and complex enterprise environments.

 

The Director will serve as a trusted advisor to CISOs, CIOs, Chief Data Officers, Privacy Officers, and Risk leaders—helping organizations design, implement, and operationalize data governance programs that support resilience, regulatory compliance, privacy, and secure data driven transformation.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Capability & Practice Leadership

  • Build and lead Kroll’s Data Governance sub capability within Cyber & Data Resilience, including service offerings, methodologies, accelerators, and go-to-market assets.

  • Define and evolve data governance solutions across data discovery, classification, lineage, data quality, retention, privacy, and data risk management.

  • Partner closely with adjacent capabilities including Privacy, IAM, AI Governance, etc. to deliver integrated client solutions.

  • Contribute to thought leadership, solution positioning, and external market presence aligned to Kroll’s resilience led strategy.

Client Delivery & Advisory

  • Act as an executive level advisor for complex client engagements, including program assessments, operating model design, roadmap development, and largescale implementations.

  • Lead delivery oversight for multi-workstream data governance programs, ensuring quality, consistency, and measurable outcomes.

  • Translate regulatory, risk, and business requirements into practical governance frameworks and technology enabled solutions.

Business Development & Revenue Growth

  • Own a $1M+ revenue target in Year 1, with accountability for pipeline development, proposal leadership, and deal closure.

  • Support account expansion through cross sell and upsell opportunities in collaboration with Cyber & Data Resilience leadership.

  • Lead RFP responses, client presentations, and executive workshops focused on data governance, privacy, and data risk.

Team Building & Talent Development

  • Recruit, mentor, and develop a high performing team of data governance practitioners.

  • Establish career paths, skills development plans, and delivery standards for the sub capability.‑capability.

  • Foster a culture of collaboration, technical excellence, and client centric delivery.‑centric delivery.

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • 9+ years of experience in Data Governance, Data Management, Data Privacy, or Data Risk within consulting, professional services, or large enterprise environments.

  • Proven experience building or scaling a data governance capability or practice.

  • Strong client facing background with executive level stakeholders and complex global organizations.

  • Demonstrated success in business development, including revenue ownership and pipeline generation

Technology & Domain Expertise

Hands‑on or advisory experience with some of the below leading platforms:

  • Data Governance & Discovery: BigID, Securiti, Symmetry, Cyera

  • Privacy & Compliance: OneTrust

  • Asset & Configuration Management: ServiceNow, BMC Helix

  • Experience integrating governance tooling into broader security, risk, and IT ecosystems is strongly preferred.

 

Certifications (Preferred)

  • CISSP or equivalent security, risk, or privacy certification

  • Additional certifications in data governance, privacy, or cloud platforms are a plus

The current salary range for this position is $175,000 to $250,000
