About PartsBase

PartsBase is the world's largest online SaaS marketplace for aviation parts, connecting buyers and suppliers across the global aerospace industry. As a subscription-based platform built on an ARR (Annual Recurring Revenue) business model, we deliver mission-critical commerce infrastructure that powers billions in transactions annually.

As we scale our SaaS operations, we are investing heavily in digital transformation—modernizing our finance organization through process automation, real-time analytics, and AI-enabled workflows that align with the velocity and precision required in today's software-driven business environment.

Position Summary

PartsBase is seeking a highly operational and digitally-fluent Finance Operations Leader to oversee the company's core accounting functions while spearheading our finance transformation journey. This role sits at the intersection of traditional accounting excellence and modern SaaS finance operations.

You will lead day-to-day accounting operations across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, and month-end close, while simultaneously driving strategic initiatives in workflow automation, revenue recognition frameworks, subscription metrics analysis, and scalable SaaS financial operations.

The ideal candidate brings a strong accounting foundation combined with deep experience in SaaS business models (ARR, MRR, CAC, LTV, churn), digital transformation initiatives, and a passion for building technology-enabled finance functions that scale efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

SaaS Accounting Operations

  • Oversee daily accounting operations across AP, AR, General Ledger, and month-end close activities with a focus on subscription revenue, deferred revenue, and ARR metrics.

  • Ensure accurate revenue recognition under ASC 606 for multi-year SaaS contracts, usage-based billing, and marketplace transaction fees.

  • Monitor and report on key SaaS financial metrics including ARR growth, net revenue retention, billings, and deferred revenue movements.

  • Maintain strong internal controls and ensure accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of financial data across subscription lifecycle management.

  • Support SaaS-specific financial reporting and provide insights into unit economics, cohort performance, and marketplace health metrics.

Digital Transformation & AI-Enabled Automation

  • Lead digital transformation initiatives that modernize finance operations through cloud-based systems, API integrations, and real-time data connectivity.

  • Identify and eliminate manual processes by implementing intelligent automation for invoice processing, subscription reconciliations, revenue recognition calculations, and anomaly detection.

  • Champion AI-driven initiatives including machine learning models for transaction categorization, predictive cash flow analytics, churn risk identification, and automated close preparation.

  • Design and implement exception-based workflows that reduce manual touchpoints while improving accuracy, speed, and scalability across the financial close process.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to integrate financial systems with CRM, billing platforms, payment gateways, and marketplace infrastructure, enabling seamless data flow and real-time visibility.

  • Evaluate, pilot, and scale emerging fintech solutions including robotic process automation (RPA), AI copilots, and autonomous accounting platforms.

Process Excellence & Operational Scalability

  • Build standardized, repeatable accounting workflows optimized for a high-velocity SaaS environment with distributed teams and global operations.

  • Develop real-time dashboards and operational metrics that provide visibility into close progress, subscription cohort performance, cash conversion cycles, and process bottlenecks.

  • Document and continuously improve finance processes to support rapid scaling without proportional headcount increases—embracing the 'do more with less' SaaS efficiency mandate.

  • Foster a data-driven, digitally-native finance culture that leverages technology as a strategic enabler rather than a back-office function.

Qualifications

Required Experience

  • 5+ years of progressive accounting operations experience, with at least 2 years in a SaaS, subscription-based, or high-growth technology company with ARR business models.

  • Deep understanding of SaaS financial metrics (ARR, MRR, net revenue retention, CAC payback, LTV:CAC ratio, Rule of 40) and subscription revenue recognition under ASC 606.

  • Proven track record leading digital transformation initiatives in finance—implementing automation platforms, migrating to cloud-based systems, or building API-driven integrations between financial and operational systems.

  • Hands-on experience with modern finance technology stack including cloud ERP systems (NetSuite, Sage Intacct, QuickBooks Online), billing platforms (Stripe, Zuora, Chargebee), and automation tools (Zapier, Workato, UiPath, or similar).

  • Experience implementing or optimizing AI-enabled finance tools such as predictive analytics, intelligent document processing, automated reconciliations, or machine learning-based categorization.

  • Strong technical fluency with data analysis tools (Excel/Google Sheets advanced functions, SQL basics, BI platforms like Tableau or Looker) and ability to work effectively with engineering and product teams.

  • Demonstrated ability to redesign legacy manual processes into scalable, technology-driven workflows that support hypergrowth without linear headcount expansion.

  • Excellent project management, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills—comfortable operating in fast-paced, ambiguous environments with distributed teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA, CMA, or equivalent professional accounting certification.

  • Experience in marketplace or platform business models with multi-sided revenue streams (buyer subscriptions, supplier fees, transaction commissions).

  • Background in change management and organizational transformation—successfully leading teams through system migrations, process overhauls, or cultural shifts toward digital-first operations.

  • Exposure to emerging finance AI technologies such as autonomous accounting platforms, generative AI for financial analysis, or natural language processing for contract extraction.

  • Familiarity with API concepts, webhook integrations, and event-driven architecture to enable real-time financial data synchronization.

  • Prior experience building or scaling finance operations from early-stage through Series B+ funding rounds or IPO readiness in SaaS companies.

Why Join PartsBase

  • Own the digital transformation roadmap for a global SaaS finance organization, with full autonomy to modernize systems, processes, and culture.

  • High-impact, high-visibility role reporting directly to senior leadership with influence over strategic decision-making and company-wide initiatives.

  • Work at the forefront of AI adoption in finance—pilot cutting-edge technologies and shape best practices for intelligent automation in SaaS accounting.

  • Join a collaborative, innovation-driven team that values experimentation, continuous improvement, and professional growth in an industry-leading marketplace platform.

  • Competitive compensation package with equity upside aligned to company performance and ARR growth milestones.
