The Hilb Group is currently seeking a motivated and ambitious Director, Finance Leadership to join our team. The ideal candidate will be motivated to succeed, is well organized, able to prioritize, and able to work well with a team. This is a remote position.
Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Direct the Company’s operating plan and forecasting 

  • cycles, providing quantitative analysis around key business drivers and macroeconomic impacts

  • Operational Excellence: Oversee the global FP&A calendar, ensuring seamless integration between monthly close, forecast, and reporting cycles

  • Capital & Sponsor Reporting: Partner closely with the SVP, FP&A, Corporate Controller and CFO to prepare stakeholder reporting and MD&A for senior leadership, lenders, private equity sponsors, and board members

  • Decision Support: Lead and coordinate complex ad hoc financial requests from executive leadership

  • KPI Development: Create effective performance metrics (KPIs) that can be regularly tracked to measure progress and drive accountability throughout the organization

  • Growth Advisory: Drive profitable growth by improving visibility, forecasting, consolidation and analysis of results and key metrics while advising senior management on insights and recommended actions

  • Cross-Functional Influence: Build deep partnerships with stakeholders to drive alignment on financial processes and integrate financial discipline into the company’s operating cadence

  • Continuous Improvement: Spearhead the evolution of FP&A methodologies and the implementation of advanced EPM tools (e.g., Adaptive) to enhance accuracy and automation

  • People Management: Recruit, develop, and mentor a high-performing team of finance professionals, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous learning

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business; MBA, CFA, or CPA highly preferred

  • Experience: Minimum 10+ years of progressive experience in Finance, with at least 5 years in a dedicated FP&A leadership capacity

  • Technical Mastery: Mastery in financial modeling, forecasting, budgeting, and analysis tools; experience with enterprise performance management (EPM) systems and financial software is required

  • Financial Acumen: Strong financial acumen and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data, perform quantitative analysis, and develop actionable insights

  • Executive Presence: Proven ability to engage, challenge, and influence stakeholders at all levels including SVPs and Senior Leadership 

  • Leadership: Proven leadership experience, including the ability to inspire and motivate teams, drive results, and foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement

  • Strategic Project Management: Demonstrated ability to lead complex, large-scale cross-functional initiatives across a breadth of stakeholder

  • Industry Expertise: Insurance experience is a significant plus, including knowledge of direct/agency bill, personal/commercial lines, employee benefits, and specialty insurance

  • Mindset: Team oriented, collaborative, diplomatic, and flexible, with excellent presentation skills.  A strategic thinker who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and can translate complex data into actionable insights
