Founded 20 years ago and headquartered in Chicago, the DV Group of financial services firms has grown to more than 600 people operating throughout North America, Europe and Asia. Since spinning out of a large brokerage firm in 2016, DV Trading has rapidly scaled as an independent proprietary trading firm utilizing its own capital, trading strategies, and risk management methodologies to provide liquidity to worldwide financial markets and hedging opportunities to commodity producers and users. Overview: 

DV Trading is seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Human Resources to lead and scale our HR function across a fast-paced proprietary trading environment. This individual will serve as a key business partner to leadership, employee engagement, organizational development, and operational excellence across the firm.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in human resources leadership, experience supporting high-performance teams, and the ability to operate both strategically and hands-on. Prior experience within the trading, financial services, fintech, or broader capital markets industry is strongly preferred.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance and coaching to managers on organizational design, employee development, performance management, and conflict resolution
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
  • Manage compensation and benefits programs, including benchmarking and market competitiveness
  • Develop and maintain HR metrics and reporting to support strategic decision-making
  • Assist with workforce planning, succession planning, and organizational development initiatives
  • Partners with external vendors and advisors as needed for benefits, immigration, payroll, and compliance matters
  • Support international HR initiatives and expansion efforts where applicable

Requirements:

  • Minimum 7+ years of progressive experience in Human Resources or related people operations roles
  • Previous HR leadership experience required
  • Industry experience within proprietary trading, hedge funds, financial services, fintech, or capital markets strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of employment law, HR best practices, and employee relations
  • Experience supporting high-growth, fast-paced, or performance-driven organizations
  • Proven ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders across all levels of an organization
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion
  • Experience with HRIS systems, compensation planning, and recruiting processes
  • Bachelor’s degree required; HR certification (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR) is a plus

The range below reflects the expected base salary for this position. It represents a good-faith estimate of the base pay we anticipate offering, with actual compensation determined by your experience, education, skills, and performance throughout the interview process. This role is also eligible for a discretionary bonus (at DV Trading's discretion) and DV Trading's benefits package, including the benefits listed above.
