About The Opportunity
The Director of Key Cities Strategy and Growth role is an essential part of Grubhub's core strategy, and sits within Grubhub's Growth department. The Director will lead a team of analysts to drive insights to inform the strategic direction of Grubhub's business, focused on driving outsized growth through targeted investments across key regions. This will include identifying opportunities to implement local interventions to drive acquisition, retention and market share, building a process to scale growth strategies across a broader set of geographies, and working with stakeholders across the business to bring these interventions to market.
To achieve these objectives, you will also be responsible for elevating the team's analytical capabilities and infrastructure by driving further connectivity with business outcomes, automation, and behavioral analysis. Overseeing analytics and strategy for a major company initiative, you will have the opportunity to influence decisions influencing a significant portion of Grubhub's business.
The ideal candidate will have not only strong quantitative qualifications, but also an ability to combine data-driven insights with conceptual thinking and a constant business-outcomes orientation. This role will require influence and coordination across multiple stakeholder groups at varying levels of the organization up to the executive levels. As such, exceptional communication and ability to synthesize analysis into clear and compelling narratives is a must. The ideal candidate should also have a proven ability to operate successfully in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment. You will need to be able to establish a well-informed long term agenda, drive structured problem solving, while also remaining agile and resilient to new opportunities.

Illinois: $189,000-$198,500
New York: $210,000-$220,500

The Impact You Will Make
- Drive consumer and business insights to develop strategies for delivering growth and profitability across the entire customer portfolio, focused on key geographic targets
- Lead and develop a team of analysts, cultivating and retaining talent
- Define the roadmap for the Key Cities Initiative to evolve and deepen the understanding of customer needs and behaviors
- Partner with Marketing, Logistics, Sales, Product, Revenue Management, and Finance teams, among others, to identify growth opportunities, develop shared agendas, and drive meaningful in-market results
- Apply sound, data-driven business judgment, weighing multiple factors, to determine and influence prioritization of marketing, pricing, product, sales, and driver investments across Grubhub
- Deliver regular, executive-level reporting to continuously assess performance, highlight opportunities, understand competition, and influence senior leaders
- Facilitate team-level goal definition and tracking to meet the organization's KPIs
- Elevate the team's analytical skills and infrastructure to generate actionable insights by building robust tools and improving reporting and performance oversight.
- Elevate organization-wide decision-making utilizing not only quantitative dimensions but also by pairing it with strong conceptual problem solving, effectively synthesized into impactful, outcomes-oriented insights
What You Bring to the Table
- Bachelor's degree required in STEM or other quantitative field (e.g., Engineering, Business, Finance, Statistics, Math, Science, etc.)
- 10+ years of experience in a strategy or business analytics leadership role
- 5+ years of leadership experience and managing teams
- Proven track record of using analytics to drive business and organizational change
- Exceptional capacity to bridge quantitative and conceptual factors to drive balanced business decision-making
- Exhibited ability to direct and synthesize complex analysis and data into easily understandable, compelling, and actionable insights
- Strong written and oral communication skills to effectively influence various functional groups and up to executive levels
- Effective even when working in unstructured or uncertain environments; ability to create structure and develop long term agendas to direct own team or influence others
- Strong project management / prioritization and influence capabilities
- Deep experience with test and learn methodologies
