Job Summary:

We are seeking a strategic, highly analytical, and people-focused Director of Paid Search to lead SEM strategy, performance, and team development across a portfolio of DTC and ecommerce clients. This role oversees end-to-end planning, execution, and optimization of paid search initiatives across Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, and emerging platforms, while also elevating internal processes and cross-channel integration.

The ideal candidate is both a big-picture strategist and a hands-on operator—comfortable digging into data, guiding client conversations, and mentoring a growing team of SEM Managers and Analysts. You will be responsible for developing high-impact search programs, driving client success, evaluating new opportunities, and continuously improving L//S Group’s SEM practice. Job Responsibilities:

Technical:

  • Media Buying: Demonstrate expertise in media buying, building, optimizing, benchmarking, measuring, and reporting on campaign performance within Google Ads and Microsoft Ads for DTC ecommerce businesses.

  • Media Planning: Create well-informed plans and forecasts that guide the media buying process to achieve a client’s goals.

  • Media Strategy: Understands the various funnel stages and the messaging tactics needed to make an impact across each.

  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor and report on key performance metrics, including conversion rates, CPA, and ROAS. Ensure that budgets are not exceeded.

  • Blueprint Implementation: Proficiently implement the Lunar Solar Group Google Ads blueprint for success and adopt all products when applicable.

  • AI Enablement: Effectively utilize AI in day-to-day functions to improve efficiency, enhance decision-making, and drive innovation.

Client Success:

  • Client Onboarding: Facilitate successful onboarding of new clients, develop initial digital marketing strategies, and ensure smooth transition to the team.

  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong client relationships, contribute to business development efforts, and advance the agency’s reputation and market position. Identify opportunities and support in the process to upsell additional marketing channels and agency lines of services to help clients advance their impact.

Department Leadership:

  • SOP Development and Execution: Ensure the proper development and execution of SOPs by the team to maintain adherence to Paid Search and company processes.

  • Process Improvement: Regularly re-evaluate processes to identify opportunities for improvement, expansion, or evolution, ensuring operational excellence.

Management:

  • Strategic Initiative Support: Support the implementation of strategic initiatives, providing guidance and direction to team members.

  • Team Management: Manage a full team of direct reports at various levels, fostering a positive environment that promotes LSG values, hard work, collaboration, and innovation. Understand when to delegate tasks and how to set up team members for success in completing them.

  • Leadership and Mentorship: Provide mentorship, training, and opportunities for growth to team members, attracting and retaining talent instrumental to the success of LSG and the Paid Search department.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 5+ years of in-platform experience with Google Ads. Bing is a plus. Experience working with DTC/ecommerce businesses is required

  • Feed Management: Experience managing and optimizing product feeds

  • Leadership Skills: Proven leadership abilities with a track record of managing large teams and driving significant business results.

  • Strategic Thinking: Strong strategic thinking skills with the ability to develop and implement innovative digital marketing strategies.

  • Analytical Skills: Advanced analytical skills with the ability to interpret large data sets and provide actionable insights.

  • Communication: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present complex information clearly and persuasively.A strong understanding of digital marketing, specifically in SEM advertising and specifically in the DTC ecomm space.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Location: East Coast or willing to work East Coast hours.

  • Experience: Agency experience, working on multiple e-commerce brands at once with a strong emphasis on customer acquisition and brand growth through conversion tactics.

  • Title: Currently or has recently held a minimum of an Associate Director position.

  • Verticals: Fashion, Beauty, and Wellness experience are a plus.
