Director of Platform Engineering

About Notabene

Notabene is building infrastructure that's transforming how money moves in the digital economy. We're evolving beyond our compliance foundations to enable the next generation of digital financial services between regulated institutions with unprecedented efficiency. With nearly 50 employees across 14 countries and having recently closed our Series B round last October with support from leading investors, including Y Combinator, DRW, F-Prime, Jump Capital, Castle Island, and Green Visor Capital, we're looking for a revenue-focused Head of Sales to drive our expansion from a leading compliance service provider to essential infrastructure for digital assets.

You'll join at a pivotal moment as we develop solutions that make digital asset transfers more reliable, efficient, trusted, and interoperable across global markets.

For Notabene, technology is at the core of our operations and is essential to scaling our business. We’re building an integrated operating system for the company: one where infrastructure, data, security, and automation work seamlessly to empower every team.

The Role

We’re hiring a Director of Platform Engineering to lead and scale our operational backbone. This highly strategic role requires both high-level business understanding and hands-on leadership across DevOps, Data, Internal Systems, Security, IT Services, and Agentic Tooling.

You will start by leading a team of five and grow the function responsibly in line with business needs. You’ll also bring expertise in the Theory of Constraints and related tools to help us identify and resolve bottlenecks, ensuring the company operates as a cohesive, high-performing system as we scale.

What You’ll Be Responsible For
  • Architect a unified operating model across DevOps, IT, data, security, and automation to support Product, GTM, Finance, and general Ops aspects of the business.

  • Roll out AI-driven agentic tooling across teams to accelerate decision-making and productivity.

  • Understanding of the Theory of Constraints and Continuous Deployment to identify bottlenecks and drive systemic improvements.

  • Lead, mentor, and scale an initial team of five — growing responsibly with business priorities.

  • Establish a robust security and compliance posture, including risk and incident response.

  • Build secure, scalable data platforms that act as trusted strategic assets.

  • Modernize internal systems to reduce friction and improve employee experience.

  • Partner with executives to align Information Operations (InfoOps) strategy with overall company goals.

  • Work closely with company stakeholders to enable/improve data-driven flows, such as product metrics and billing.

What You Bring
  • Leadership experience across technical domains: DevOps, Data, IT, and Security.

  • Track record rolling out AI/agentic tooling and driving adoption.

  • Experience building and scaling teams responsibly and strategically.

  • Strong business acumen — able to weigh trade-offs and prioritize for impact.

  • Excellent communication and executive presence — skilled at influencing across all levels.

  • History of leading organizational transformations in fast-moving environments.

  • A systems-thinking mindset and drive for continuous improvement.

Why You’ll Love It Here
  • Ownership & Impact: You’ll define how InfoOps evolves as a core part of our scaling story.

  • Innovation: You’ll pioneer the rollout of AI-driven tooling and systemic improvements.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with leadership across product, operations, finance, and people.

  • Culture: A transparent, high-trust environment with autonomy and accountability.

  • Growth Path: A role designed to expand as the company grows.

Competitive Compensation: We back impact with market-leading pay and benefits.
