The Role 

Green Thumb Industries (GTI) is looking for a Director, Product Management to lead the end-to-end lifecycle management of our eCommerce, CRM and related digital platforms for RISE retail. This role will be a critical leader in shaping the development of our eCommerce technology and will reside on the eCommerce team as part of the Revenue Organization, reporting to the Vice President of eCommerce. The Director, Product Management will lead the team of product managers, product owners, and business analysts in roadmap development and maintenance and product prioritization, in line with the overall business vision to drive performance. This leader will continue to optimize the platform and overall tech stack, in close partnership with Engineers and Data scientists, to develop experiences that will continue to shape the cannabis industry. 

This is a remote role. Travel to Chicago HQ may be required a few times per year to meet with the team. 

Responsibilities 

  • Oversee the delivery of the eCommerce product roadmap to support cross functional stakeholders and drive performance against eCommerce business KPIs. 
  • Lead a team of product managers, designers, and engineers in ongoing sprints and releases to deliver exceptional customer experiences through our digital products.  
  • Demonstrate ability to seamlessly transition between high-level strategic planning and hands-on team collaboration, as well as lead executive-level discussions on organizational strategy while also effectively managing detailed project details with the product and development teams. 
  • Coach and mentor a talented team of product managers, product owners, and business analysts and guide their objectives and priorities. 
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation and accountability. o Manage product budgets and timelines to ensure delivery on-time and on budget.  
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on product strategy, development, and launch plans.  o Develop and maintain strong, trusted relationships with all internal stakeholders. 

Data Driven Product Decisions

  • Incorporate data-driven insights from user research and advanced analytics to guide product direction and prioritize features that maximize impact and user value. o 
  • Manage product and feature analytics, data analysis tools and techniques, research for analysis activities, documentation procedures (for example, data logs), and the incorporation of modern industry practices and emerging product trends.  

Customer Focus

  •  Leverage strong understanding of customer and business problems; design thinking; dependencies and impacts on product processes/ways of working; journey mapping; process optimization; communication and influencing techniques.  
  • Create scalable processes to gather and analyze customer experiences in partnership with the Customer Insights team. Demonstrate a deep understanding of customer needs to make decisions. Coach team members to improve focus on the customer. 

Product Roadmap and Development 

  • Leverage extensive knowledge of and experience with product roadmap development techniques; roadmap presentation; roadmap features and items; project management techniques; modern business practice (for example, Agile methodologies, Scrum); Minimum Viable Product (MVP) creation; product development lifecycles; product development concepts (for example, "Crossing the Chasm"). 
  • Develop and own roadmaps across a complex product. Ensure and drive communication for internal and external stakeholders. Interface with and influence partners to secure resources and alignment.  
  • Manage and prioritize a dynamic and complex product backlog across multiple eCom stakeholder needs, ensuring the delivery of high-value features aligned with the company’s strategic goals.  
  • Mentor team on product roadmap and development. Establish product roadmap expectations, performance measures, and goals.  
  • Lead team in defining and prioritizing product features, requirements, and roadmap based on customer insights, market trends, and business objectives.  
  • Drive alignment of features for a complex product by navigating through organizational/ market constraints. Manage roll out and scaling (using an MVP approach) of complex products/features.  
  • Leverage rapid prototyping and Lean experimentation methodologies. 

Product Vision and Strategy

  • Develop problem formulation and solutioning, including hypothesis framing.  
  • Own a complex customer problem and/or product requirement/need, as well as upstream and downstream impacts. Promote product strategies and vision to stakeholders. Drive "Goto-Market" strategies to ensure mass adoption.

Technology Orientation

  • Stay at the forefront of industry trends, competitive analysis, emerging technologies, and best practices to inspire innovation and maintain a competitive advantage.  
  • Demonstrate knowledge of and curiosity about competitive technology landscapes; existing portfolio of enterprise systems, technologies, services, and architecture; common PaaS and IaaS technologies and environments; software quality assurance methodologies, tools, processes, and checkpoints; emerging technology and industry trends. 
  • Drive business and user acceptance testing for complex products. Manage the adoption of new and emerging technologies. Possess an understanding of complete systems architecture, services involved, and the database and cloud technologies used.  

Qualifications  

  • BA/BS undergraduate degree required, ideally in engineering, computer science, business, or a related technical or process-focused field. 
    • An MBA or Masters in Product is nice to have. 
  • 10+ years of experience in Product Management preferably within a fast paced, high-growth environment. 
  • 5+ years of experience in a product leadership role managing high-functioning product management team. 
  • Proven leadership experience in product management with a focus on building a product organization and leading product managers through the full life cycle: strategy, development, experimentation, launch, optimization, sunset. 
  • Expertise in digital, retail or eCommerce (in an industry). 
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills with the ability to turn market insights into actionable product strategies. 
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively at all levels of the organization. 
  • Familiarity with relevant regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements. 
  • Has a strong understanding of and experience in agile development principles.  
  • History of making challenging tradeoffs in establishing product priorities that have required sophisticated analyses and challenging negotiations. 
  • Experience with ecommerce platforms and tools (e.g., Salesforce Commerce, Websphere Commerce, Magento, Drupal, Frontastic, etc.) and data analytics tools. 
  • Experience partnering with technical partners from engineering, data science, user design and architecture teams in a fast paced, agile development process. 
  • Knowledge of and/or experience with the Cannabis industry is a plus.

  • Must pass any and all required background checks  
  • Must be and remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry  
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age

The pay range is competitive and based on experience, qualifications, and/or location of the role. Positions may be eligible for a discretionary annual incentive program driven by organization and individual performance.

Green Thumb Pay Range

$150,000$170,000 USD
