Director, Product Management (P2141)

Summary:
The Director of Product Management will leverage technology, product, and design skills to address real customer challenges while aligning with business objectives for the Kroger Model Data & Insights teams. This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of product management, stakeholder engagement, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams effectively. The Director will champion product vision, strategy, and development, ensuring alignment with the company's overarching business strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Product Vision and Strategy: Define and champion a long-term product vision, ensuring alignment with business strategies. Lead product discovery sessions and develop comprehensive product roadmaps.
  • Stakeholder Management: Build and manage relationships with stakeholders, influencing and driving change. Clearly communicate the value and ROI of product initiatives.
  • Product Development and Execution: Manage end-to-end product development and releases. Prioritize product features based on market trends, customer feedback, and business objectives.
  • Team Leadership and Development: Lead, develop, and mentor a team of product owners. Attract, develop, and retain talent, fostering a positive team culture and establishing best practices.  This role is responsible for oversight of a team focused on data and a second team focused on scalable insights.
  • Customer and Market Insights: Conduct thorough market research to identify industry trends, competitor offerings, and emerging technologies. Understand customer problems and the platforms/technology they use.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilize product data to inform decisions, both quantitative and qualitative. Analyze data and user feedback to iterate on product strategy.
  • Innovation and Culture: Promote a strong, innovative, and collaborative culture. Stay abreast of emerging industry trends and disruptive technologies, with specific focus on AI applications for both data and scalable insights.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with commercial and technical leaders to align talent and resources. Ensure cross-domain initiatives are executed effectively.
  • Data Subject Matter Expert: Work with enterprise data teams at both 84.51 and Kroger Technology to identify available and emerging data to incorporate into overall roadmap.
  • Kroger Reporting Subject Matter Expert: Understand Kroger and 84.51 reporting capabilities and technologies to influence transformation of current reporting to AI-enabled future.

 Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

  • Proven experience in managing cross-functional development teams in an agile environment.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and drive change.
  • Problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
  • Planning, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and ability to remain resourceful in the face of unexpected results.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate between business and technical domains.
  • Technical acumen to lead a product and/or program.
  • Embraces a learning mindset, particularly around artificial intelligence and applications to business.
  • 6-10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

Pay Transparency and Benefits

  • The stated salary range represents the entire span applicable across all geographic markets from lowest to highest.  Actual salary offers will be determined by multiple factors including but not limited to geographic location, relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications, and alignment with market data and cost of labor. In addition to salary, this position is also eligible for variable compensation.
