LaunchSquad helps innovative brands tell their stories. Since 2000, we’ve partnered with leading technology companies to create multi-channel communications programs that build awareness and drive growth.

We’re looking for a Director of Energy and Infrastructure Communications to lead media relations, executive communications, and storytelling programs for companies shaping the future of energy, infrastructure, manufacturing, and industrial technology. The right candidate has experience leading integrated programs across earned media, executive thought leadership, owned content, and social, either in-house at high-growth technology companies or within an agency environment.

We're looking for a seasoned strategist who can counsel clients, guide teams, and lead the moments that matter: major announcements, narrative shifts, creative campaigns, and business milestones. They have a strong foundation in B2B technology and know how to translate technical products, platforms, and industry concepts into clear, compelling stories that resonate across business, media, technical, and policy audiences.

Account Directors at LaunchSquad lead four to five client accounts, partnering with senior leaders and clients to shape narratives, build visibility, and drive integrated communications programs. They also play a key role in developing talent, coaching teams, maintaining high-quality work, and helping others grow.

Responsibilities

  • Develop integrated communications programs across earned media, executive thought leadership, owned content, and digital/social channels
  • Manage client relationships, providing strategic counsel and anticipating program needs
  • Shape and lead high-impact moments like launches, announcements, funding, and other milestones
  • Partner with executives to develop thought leadership platforms, including planning and execution with bylines, LinkedIn, speaking engagements, and reactive commentary.
  • Identify and activate timely storytelling opportunities tied to industry, policy, and cultural moments
  • Write and edit high-impact materials, including messaging frameworks, brand narratives, thought leadership, and long-form content
  • Build and maintain strong media relationships across tech, climate, and energy sectors
  • Lead and mentor teams, ensuring high-quality work and supporting growth and advancement
  • Manage multiple accounts and priorities in a fast-paced environment

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience leading external communications, public relations, corporate communications, or integrated communications programs in an agency or in-house environment
  • Strong background in B2B technology, ideally across energy, infrastructure, industrial, manufacturing, or other technical sectors
  • Experience building brand positioning, messaging, and narrative platforms for high-growth companies and emerging technologies
  • Seasoned client lead capable of independently counseling CEOs, CMOs, and senior executives
  • Strong media instincts with a track record of securing top-tier and industry coverage in new and traditional media
  • Skilled writer and content strategist experienced developing thought leadership, customer stories, blogs, whitepapers, reports, and social content
  • Deep understanding of how stories move across earned, owned, and social channels, and how to shape content for different platforms and audiences
  • Experience leading teams, mentoring talent, and maintaining high standards for quality work
  • Highly organized, collaborative, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  •

At LaunchSquad, we care about our work, our clients, and our community. We are a people-first company committed to making sure everyone has a great experience and an equal opportunity to grow and succeed.

If you’re excited about leading clients, shaping narratives, and working at the intersection of technology and climate/energy, we’d love to hear from you.
