A Day in the Life: 

The Director, Strategic Partnerships - Business Development, will help lead high-impact growth initiatives that expand Hertz’s revenue opportunities and strengthen the company’s position across strategic industries and partner ecosystems.

This role will serve as a key partner to the Senior Director of Strategic Partnerships — Business Development, helping shape new partnership strategies, build compelling partner value propositions, model deal economics, and move priority opportunities from concept to execution.

The ideal candidate is strategically minded, highly analytical, commercially sharp, and energized by building new things. This person should bring the modeling and problem-solving toolkit typically developed in consulting, FP&A, finance, sales strategy, revenue strategy, or similar analytical commercial roles. They should be able to structure ambiguous problems, build strong business cases, engage credibly with external partners, and translate partnership ideas into financially sound, revenue-aware recommendations.

 

What You’ll Do:

Lead Growth Initiatives

  • Support the development and execution of new strategic partnership initiatives that drive revenue growth and expand Hertz’s reach in priority categories. 
  • Help identify and prioritize opportunities across sports, automotive, premium/luxury, travel, mobility, culture, technology, entertainment, and other strategic growth spaces. 
  • Translate market trends, customer segments, partner needs, and Hertz capabilities into actionable partnership strategies. 

Structure Deals and Model Economics

  • Build and pressure-test financial models, business cases, revenue forecasts, ROI analyses, and commercial scenarios for new and existing partnership opportunities. 
  • Help define deal mechanics, including value exchange, economics, investment requirements, performance metrics, and operating model considerations. 
  • Identify key assumptions, financial risks, dependencies, and tradeoffs that inform decision-making and negotiation strategy. 
  • Partner closely with internal stakeholders to ensure partnership concepts are commercially sound, financially grounded, and executable. 

Build Partner Value Propositions

  • Develop clear partner value propositions that articulate why Hertz is the right strategic partner. 
  • Create tools, frameworks, and narratives that tailor Hertz’s value proposition to different partner segments and industries. 
  • Support partner segmentation by identifying which partners, audiences, use cases, and commercial models create the strongest mutual value. 
  • Connect Hertz assets, brand, fleet, locations, customer segments, loyalty capabilities, and operational strengths into compelling partnership offerings. 

Improve Business Development Execution

  • Create more efficient tools, templates, automations, and processes for sourcing, evaluating, modeling, and advancing partnership opportunities. 
  • Support pipeline management, deal tracking, internal reporting, and leadership updates. 
  • Participate in and lead partner conversations, including discovery, opportunity framing, pitch development, and commercial discussions. 

 

What We’re Looking For: 

Required:

  • Minimum B.S./B.A. degree or equivalent from four-year college/university required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in strategic partnerships, business development, FP&A, finance, management consulting, corporate strategy, sales strategy, revenue strategy, corporate development, or another analytical commercial role required 
  • Strong quantitative toolkit, including experience with financial modeling, deal modeling, business cases, revenue forecasting, ROI analysis, scenario planning, or commercial performance analysis. 
  • Ability to structure ambiguous problems, identify the right questions, and develop practical recommendations. 
  • Strong commercial and financial fluency, with the ability to translate partnership ideas into models, economics, and recommendations that align with revenue and financial objectives. 
  • Strong PowerPoint and Excel skills, with the ability to build executive-ready narratives, models, and recommendations. 
  • Comfortable engaging directly with external partners and representing Hertz with professionalism, energy, and confidence. 
  • Process-minded operator who can create structure, improve workflows, and help the team move faster. 
  • Strong communication skills, executive presence, curiosity, and willingness to challenge assumptions constructively. 

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Graduate degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field; MBA preferred. 
  • Experience building partner value propositions, commercial models, segmentation frameworks, or go-to-market strategies. 
  • Experience supporting growth initiatives, pricing, revenue management, partnerships, new business development, or commercial strategy. 
  • Experience with Tableau, Salesforce, automation tools, or similar reporting / CRM platforms. 
  • Experience in or passion for sports, automotive, premium/luxury, travel, mobility, technology, entertainment, or consumer brands. 
  • Highly preferred 3 days a week in Estero FL or Sandy Springs, GA.
