Solovis is investing in AI as a lever to change how the company operates and does business, and that change requires leadership that can move from problem to proven value. The Director, Strategic Projects AI partners with senior leadership to deliver transformation projects of strategic importance to the company. This individual combines a deep understanding of the business with hands-on command of what AI can actually do, and owns each initiative end to end: from root cause diagnosis through solution design, build, implementation, and value capture.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with senior leadership on transformation projects of strategic importance to the company
- Identify where to focus based on the potential for value creation across the entire business, not within a single function
- Work with leaders to gather the facts, build a rigorous understanding of the root cause of each problem, and define the solution
- Lead solutions end to end: design, construction, implementation, and value capture
- Rapidly prototype applications and tooling to validate the impact of a solution, then drive the production deployment
- Define clear metrics that evaluate impact and prove the value of each solution
- Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders across product, engineering, sales, and client success, given the strategic nature of the projects
- Drive AI adoption across the organization and serve as a visible example of what the technology makes possible
Skills and Experience
- Demonstrated experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives in a technology or SaaS environment, from problem definition through measurable business outcomes
- Structured problem-solving skills developed in strategy consulting, corporate strategy, transformation, or an equivalent operating role, with comfort engaging executives on business problems
- Hands-on, current experience building with AI: large language model APIs, agent and automation workflows, and rapid application prototyping, whether in code or low-code tools
- Experience taking a prototype into production in partnership with engineering teams, including the tradeoffs of scaling, security, and maintainability
- Proficiency in data analysis, with the ability to establish baselines, quantify impact, and translate findings into decisions and recommendations
- Technical acumen sufficient to engage credibly with engineering and product teams
Key Qualities
- Operates with a high degree of autonomy and drives initiatives to completion without close oversight
- Proactive problem solver who anticipates obstacles and resolves them before they affect delivery
- Decisive under ambiguity, with a habit of grounding recommendations in facts and data
- Communicates with clarity and concision, adapting to technical and non-technical audiences up to the executive level
- Learns fast and stays current with AI capabilities as they evolve, applying judgment about what is real and what is hype
