Position Summary
The Director of Technical Communications and Strategy will lead the development, execution, and ongoing evolution of strategic communication programs while overseeing key operational metrics across CNP Technology. This role operates horizontally across the technology organization to translate complex initiatives, innovations, and operational outcomes into clear, compelling narratives for broad enterprise consumption.

The successful candidate will partner closely with technology and product leadership to align messaging with long‑term strategy, support modernization efforts, and ensure consistent, high‑impact communication across internal and external channels. This role is instrumental in connecting strategy to execution, enabling transparency, alignment, and engagement across the CVS enterprise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning and execution of internal and external technology events, including Town Halls, Product Showcases, and Leadership Forums.
  • Partner with technology and product leaders to shape and communicate strategic initiatives and long‑term technology roadmaps aligned to enterprise business goals.
  • Support the evolution of the technology operating model, driving modernization and transformation across product and engineering organizations.
  • Serve as a connective tissue between technology and business teams, ensuring alignment, clarity, and consistency amid shifting priorities.
  • Collaborate with the Experience and Technology Internal Communications Lead to develop, maintain, and execute a comprehensive content strategy for internal and enterprise websites, enhancing user experience and engagement.
  • Own the governance, review, and maintenance of website and portal content, ensuring accuracy, relevance, brand alignment, and adherence to user‑experience best practices.
  • Develop communication plans, messaging frameworks, and campaign measurement approaches to assess effectiveness against operational and engagement goals.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in technical communications, spanning technology strategy, management consulting, and/or product and engineering operations.
  • 10+ years demonstrating exceptional written and verbal communication capabilities, with the ability to tailor messages for diverse audiences and platforms.
  • 8+ years partnering with technology teams and translating complex technical concepts into accessible, business‑relevant narratives.
  • 8+ years managing multiple projects, deadlines, and communication channels with strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • 8+ years of proven success working across cross‑functional teams, including engineering, product, and business stakeholders.
  • 6+ years applying creative approaches to develop engaging, innovative communication strategies.
  • 6+ years leveraging analytical skills and attention to detail to identify communication gaps and design effective, measurable solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fluency in modern engineering and delivery practices; hands‑on coding is not required, but a working understanding of how contemporary software teams build and deploy solutions is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated collaboration and teamwork, with a growth mindset and emphasis on agility, continuous improvement, and learning.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field required
  • Advanced or specialized training and professional certifications preferred

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$100,000.00 - $231,540.00


This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.  This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
