About AutoRABIT

AutoRABIT is revolutionizing DevOps and data protection for Salesforce teams operating in complex, highly regulated environments. Our platform integrates CI/CD, compliance, release orchestration, and AI powered automation to improve software delivery, reduce risk, and increase velocity.

With a foundation in Lean principles, we focus on eliminating waste, driving innovation, and delivering scalable value for our customers.

Position Summary

AutoRABIT is seeking an exceptional Distinguished Software Engineer (IC-7) to serve as one of the highest level technical individual contributors in our global Engineering organization.

This role is intended for an engineer with extraordinary technical depth, demonstrated industry expertise, and a proven ability to solve complex engineering challenges that impact multiple products, teams, and business objectives.

This is not a traditional architect or people management position. We are looking for a highly accomplished, AI forward, hands on engineer who combines strategic technical leadership with the ability and willingness to write production code, build sophisticated solutions, and personally drive critical engineering initiatives.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in Java, distributed systems, enterprise SaaS platforms, and modern cloud technologies. They must also bring meaningful, demonstrated experience applying artificial intelligence to software products and engineering workflows.

As a Distinguished Engineer, you will influence AutoRABIT's long term technical direction, establish engineering standards, mentor senior technical leaders, and lead the implementation of our most complex and business critical solutions.

You will work closely with Engineering, Product, Architecture, Security, and Executive Leadership to translate technical innovation into measurable business and customer outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

Enterprise Technical Strategy & Leadership

  • Serve as one of AutoRABIT's most senior technical authorities, influencing engineering strategy across products and teams.

  • Define and guide long term technical direction, architectural principles, and engineering standards.

  • Identify and solve complex technical challenges that span multiple engineering teams, products, and platforms.

  • Partner with the VP of Engineering, CTO, and other senior leaders to align technical investments with business priorities.

  • Evaluate major technical decisions, platform investments, and modernization initiatives.

  • Provide technical leadership through expertise, influence, and execution rather than formal management authority.

AI Innovation & Engineering Leadership

  • Drive the adoption of AI technologies that meaningfully improve AutoRABIT's products, engineering productivity, and customer outcomes.

  • Architect, develop, and deliver AI powered product capabilities and intelligent automation solutions.

  • Lead technical initiatives involving Large Language Models, Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), AI agents, Model Context Protocol (MCP), and agentic workflows.

  • Establish practical standards for AI assisted software development, including code quality, security, validation, and responsible use.

  • Evaluate emerging AI technologies and determine where they provide measurable value.

  • Mentor engineering teams on AI implementation, technical limitations, evaluation methods, and effective development practices.

  • Demonstrate a proven ability to move AI initiatives beyond experimentation into reliable production solutions.

Hands On Engineering & Execution

  • Remain actively involved in software development, including writing, reviewing, testing, and deploying production code.

  • Personally lead the design and implementation of highly complex, business critical software capabilities.

  • Serve as a technical escalation point for the organization's most difficult engineering and production challenges.

  • Drive engineering excellence across Java, Spring Boot, APIs, microservices, distributed systems, and cloud native platforms.

  • Build reference implementations, prototypes, and foundational components that accelerate development across teams.

  • Ensure technical solutions meet enterprise expectations for scalability, security, reliability, performance, and maintainability.

  • Lead by example through strong coding practices, technical problem solving, and consistent delivery.

Architecture, Scalability & Modernization

  • Guide the evolution of AutoRABIT's enterprise SaaS architecture.

  • Identify architectural limitations, technical debt, and systemic risks that could impact long term product scalability.

  • Lead modernization initiatives across application services, integrations, infrastructure, and development practices.

  • Establish reusable engineering patterns, frameworks, and technical standards.

  • Improve platform performance, resilience, observability, and operational efficiency.

  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend investments that strengthen the AutoRABIT platform.

Engineering Excellence & Continuous Improvement

  • Establish and promote engineering practices that improve software quality, development efficiency, and delivery predictability.

  • Champion automation, CI/CD, DevSecOps, testing, and modern software development practices.

  • Identify opportunities to reduce complexity, eliminate waste, and improve engineering workflows.

  • Promote a culture of technical accountability, experimentation, and continuous learning.

  • Use engineering metrics and measurable outcomes to evaluate the impact of technical improvements.

Cross Functional Influence & Mentorship

  • Serve as a trusted technical advisor to Engineering, Product, Architecture, Security, and Executive Leadership.

  • Mentor Principal Engineers, senior developers, architects, and emerging technical leaders.

  • Lead complex technical discussions and help teams navigate difficult engineering tradeoffs.

  • Influence technical decisions across the organization without relying on direct reporting authority.

  • Communicate complex engineering concepts clearly to both technical and nontechnical stakeholders.

  • Foster a culture of collaboration, technical excellence, innovation, and ownership across globally distributed teams.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 15+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a demonstrated history of delivering complex enterprise software products and platforms.

  • Proven experience operating as a Distinguished Engineer, Principal Engineer, Staff Engineer, Chief Architect, or equivalent senior technical individual contributor.

  • Exceptional hands on expertise in Java, Spring Boot, distributed systems, microservices, APIs, and enterprise application architecture.

  • Deep experience designing and delivering highly scalable, secure, and reliable enterprise SaaS platforms.

  • Demonstrated success leading major technical initiatives spanning multiple engineering teams or product areas.

  • Proven experience building and delivering AI powered software capabilities in production environments.

  • Strong practical experience with AI assisted software development tools and modern AI engineering workflows.

  • Experience with technologies such as Large Language Models, RAG, AI agents, MCP, or comparable AI frameworks.

  • Deep understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure, including cloud architecture, distributed systems, and AI integration capabilities.

  • Extensive experience with CI/CD, DevSecOps, Kubernetes, containers, and Infrastructure as Code.

  • Strong understanding of enterprise security, application performance, reliability, and operational excellence.

  • Demonstrated ability to resolve highly complex technical challenges and critical production issues.

  • Experience influencing architectural direction and technical standards across multiple teams.

  • Proven ability to mentor senior technical contributors and elevate engineering capabilities across an organization.

  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to influence executive and technical stakeholders.

  • A track record of translating technical innovation into measurable product, engineering, or business outcomes.

  • Demonstrated technical leadership through major engineering contributions, open source projects, publications, patents, industry recognition, or equivalent achievements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Salesforce technologies, APIs, metadata, DevOps workflows, or enterprise applications built for the Salesforce ecosystem.

  • Experience developing DevSecOps platforms, CI/CD tooling, release automation, or data protection solutions.

  • Experience introducing AI powered capabilities or agentic workflows into enterprise software products.

  • Experience guiding major architectural modernization initiatives.

  • Experience working in highly regulated industries or security sensitive enterprise environments.

  • Experience collaborating with globally distributed engineering and product teams.
