About The Position

 The Distributed Energy Resources (DER) Key Accounts Manager is the representative for key account customers and generators developing renewable projects and serves a critical role in Ameren Illinois's clean energy transition. This position is responsible for developing strong working relationships and implementing integrated business objectives focusing on improved customer services and enhanced profitability for both parties. This position will be part of a team that leads all DER customer relations for all non-residential renewable efforts on behalf of Ameren Illinois. The position will lead large-scale industrial renewable efforts on behalf of Ameren Illinois, partnering with customers as an integral part of the clean energy transition.

Reporting location is dependent on Successful Candidate (must be within Ameren Operating Area and is dependent upon site availability)

Key responsibilities include:

Act as a single point of contact and relations between Ameren and Renewable Customers including solar, wind, battery storage, and other generation facilities, community solar projects, and key account customer renewable installations. 

Work closely with other Ameren teams to Manage interfaces and relationships on large Ameren construction and maintenance projects involving renewable installation including preliminary engineering requests, review cost estimates, real estate costs, engineering specifications, construction of facilities, metering. , Facilitation of the project through completion and coordination to resolve all customer issues during ongoing DER facility operation.

Prepare, execute, and coordinate implementation of all agreements and documents and coordinate renewable installation design and construction to manage stakeholder expectations for project delivery.

Assist Regulatory by participating on tariff review teams, providing input for new tariff language, related to renewables, to align with the CEJA and CRGA legislation.  

Serve as a leader in advancing Ameren Illinois's role in the clean energy transition and taking an innovative and forward-looking approach to customer solutions by identifying process improvements needed and implementing strategic solutions.

Position may be required to work extended hours for coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies coordinating communication with DER sites. 

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, Accounting or related field from an accredited college or university required. MBA preferred. Five or more years of relevant experience (utility, rates, financial, etc.) required with two years of relevant relationship management, engineering, accounting, sales and/or customer service experience. Three or more years of supervisory or high-level team leadership or project leadership experience required. Required experience in managing projects across multiple departments.

In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate:

Proficiency with MS Office Suite of applications. Strong Excel skills, maneuverability within SharePoint Site and Ameren customer portals preferred. Understanding of Ameren rates and Illinois' regulatory environment preferred. Thorough knowledge of CSS, OAS, Ameren Portals, and Byers mapping preferred.  Knowledge in the basic concepts of electricity and natural gas.  Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated, solve problems, analytical skills, make decisions and be proactive.  Must be a strong communicator that shows attention to details.  Strong presentation, oral and written communications skills required.

Compensation Range:

$111,100.00 - $172,200.00

At Ameren, base salary is one component of a competitive compensation package for employees. Our pay ranges are broad to allow for movement within our organization and to accommodate different skill sets and levels of expertise. We take into consideration a variety of factors including, but not limited to, skills, abilities, experience, education, credentials, and internal equity when determining the base salary offered. Roles are eligible for additional rewards including annual incentive payments based on individual and company performance.
