KTS is seeking an experienced drafter / designer to support the engineering team creating new designs and maintaining existing products.  This is a full-time position at the KTS facility in Des Plaines, IL.
Responsibilities:
  • Model fully designed components/assemblies and create/revise drawings in accordance with ASME standards
  • Design minor components or portions of major systems and modify existing designs to develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing operations
  • Work from engineering notes, sketches, redlines, and/or preliminary drawings to create or modify designs
  • Work with multiple organizations in the company to include, but not limited to, engineering, quality and operations/manufacturing
  • Review work to ensure accuracy and completeness

Required Qualifications & Skills:
  • Associate’s degree in applicable field
  • Minimum of four years of Computer-Aided Design (CAD) experience
  • Ability to parametrically model fully defined components and assemblies
  • Proficiency with ASME Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), ASME Y14.100 Engineering Drawing Practices, and Design for Manufacturing (DFM)
  • Experience with revision control tools
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, problem solving, and time management skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize
  • Ability to travel (< 25%)
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance

Other Preferred Skills:
  • Expertise in PTC Creo
  • Experience with wire harness design
  • Experience with wire harness routing in electromechanical designs
We recognize that attracting the best talent is key to our strategy and success as a company.  As a result, we aim for flexibility in structuring competitive compensation offers to ensure we are able to attract the best candidates.  As required by law in this state, the estimated salary range for this position is $55,000-$73,000 and represents our good faith estimate as to what our ideal candidates are likely to expect.  We tailor our offers within the range based on organizational needs, internal equity, market data, geographic zone, and the selected candidate’s experience, education, industry knowledge, location, technical and communication skills, and other factors that may prove relevant during the selection process.
