Job Responsibilities:
- Lead execution of facility IT projects and initiatives.
- Support production uptime requirements and enable business outcomes through strong knowledge of network infrastructure, including switches, firewalls, cabling, and architecture.
- Create and update facility Logical Technical Architectures (LTA's).
- Manage firewall rules to support factory operations.
- Maintain shop-floor Active Directory structures and Group Policy.
- Provide hardware and software support for corporate and facility IT assets.
- Perform basic installation of network and server equipment under guidance from the infrastructure team.
- Collaborate with Caterpillar teams and vendors on application and software issues.
- Conduct root-cause analysis for shop-floor computing issues and recommend corrective actions.
- Support Caterpillar-developed applications through initial troubleshooting.
- Assist with non-standard Active Directory account administration.
- Provide operating system support and manage security patch deployments.
- Assist with hardware diagnostics and coordination with third-party vendors when needed.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent including 7+ years' IT experience in each of the following:
- Information technology
- PC related hardware/software technology
- Backend infrastructure (server, storage, database, network)
- Excellent written and oral communications
Ideal Candidate Will Also Have:
- Enterprise and Technical Architecture
- LTA and Firewall Rule writing/analysis
- Expertise in network and computer troubleshooting
- Factory Application knowledge:
- PinPoint - PC and Tooling connectivity and troubleshooting
- CIMNET and FreedomE - Legacy machining center connectivity
- AVD based factory applications (Infinity and GageIT) - Shop floor account management and operator interface
- Office 365 client computing solutions
- Project Management capabilities
- Effective teamwork skills
- Initiative (Self Starter)
- CompTIA Network+, or Microsoft Server and Client certifications
