Position Overview
Provides leadership, guidance and support to division and regional management to ensure consistent development, implementation and execution of integrated environmental health and safety (EH&S) strategies and cost-effective solutions. Conducts field audits, recommends preventative and corrective action.

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership, guidance and support to division and regional management regarding employee safety programs, regulatory compliance and employee health issues within assigned geographic division.  

  • Ensures consistent development, implementation and execution of integrated strategies and cost-effective solutions in the areas of employee health and safety, transportation safety, ergonomics and environmental health for both facilities and vehicular operations.  

  • Supports the division and regional management in activities related to the development of safety processes, risk assessments, start-up operations, etc. 

  • Travels within division to conduct environmental health and safety field audits to assess, identify and focus on high-risk locations.

  • Analyzes trends and make recommendations to improve results of key performance indicators. 

  • Provides effective guidance and technical support for business operations and branch safety committees. 

  • Implements corporate EH&S strategies and ensures alignment of division and regional objectives. 

  • Guides and directs operations management to address productivity and financial loss drivers of worker’s compensation, auto liability, and general liability claims. 

  • Supports and assists the Safety Department with managing regulatory agencies regarding inspections, compliance issues, occurrences and employee safety complaints.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, risk management or a related field required

  • 5+ years of safety experience required to include 1-3 years of direct field experience with managing employee health, and  safety

  • Associate Safety Professional (ASP) and/or Certified Safety Professional (CSP), preferred

  • Valid, permanent driver’s license from state of residence.  Current liability auto insurance required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of federal and state environmental health and safety regulations

  • Knowledge of concepts, principles, practices, and strategies related to employee health and safety, transportation safety, industrial hygiene, hazardous materials, ergonomics and environmental health  

  • Knowledge of loss prevention practices and techniques related to worker’s compensation, auto liability, and general liability claims

  • Business and financial acumen

  • Organizational, project and process management skills

  • Change management and conflict resolution skills

  • Attention to detail and analytical skills

  • Skill and ability to operate within a matrix organization and influence cross-functional teams

  • Ability to operate independently and collaboratively within a team

  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle and travel frequently, including overnight

  • Computer skills with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

Pay Ranges$75,217.00 - $145,154.00

This range is based on the qualifications necessary for the position, including experience, training, and other considerations permitted by law. Factors that may be used when making an offer may include a candidate’s skills, experience, and geographic location, the expected quality and quantity of work, and internal pay alignment, as needed. Most candidates will start in the bottom half of the pay range. The upper end of the range will generally be reserved for candidates with extensive experience. An employee’s pay history will not be a contributing factor where prohibited by local law. In addition to monetary compensation, we offer benefits, including Medical/Dental/Vision insurance and Company-matching 401(k) in addition to other programs and perks.
