 P1 Service, LLC, is seeking an Electrical Project Engineer to service the Kansas City metro area from our Lenexa, KS office.

The Opportunity 

The Electrical Project Engineer position supports and assists the project manager or account manager in assuring timely project completion. As directed - researches, studies, understands and assists in contract documentation, budget, safety, statutory, and legal compliance. Additionally, the individual assists in maintaining constructive relationships and supportive communications with clients, vendors, subcontractors, inspectors, community officials, P1 Service staff, and immediate supervisor. They will maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks and participating in professional societies.

What You’ll Do

  • Develops schedules, budgets, progress reviews, billings, bids, change orders, submittal lists and reports
  • Visits jobsites to monitor progress, coordinate with the project team, audit site safety, and review productivity
  • Meets with the project team to review short-interval plans, requests for information, change orders, purchase orders, and labor reports and supports the team and project manager, as appropriate
  • Assists in start-up planning, coordination, and execution
  • Assists in monitoring and enforcing appropriate cost controls. Learns to recognize productivity issues and addresses them with the project manager or account manager and/or team
  • Assists in the preparation and presentation of forecasts for the monthly profit review process to include, if necessary, corrective action to resolve problems and restore quality, safety, productivity, and/or profitability
  • Establishes and maintains collaborative working relationships with owner, general contractor, subcontractors, and/or vendors to include providing them timely, accurate and complete information
  • Coordinates with appropriate P1 Service departments for timely delivery of material and manpower resources
  • Provides timely, accurate, and complete information to the company’s senior leaders
  • Performs customer site visits to determine needs and develop a scope of work that satisfies the owner’s project requirements. Identifies problems and proposes cost-effective solutions

Requirements

 Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree (BS) in a construction or engineering related discipline, or five years of related trade experience and/or trade training, or equivalent combination of education and trade experience
  • Ability to research the marketplace, identify target customers and prepare individualized sales and marketing campaigns
  • Ability to develop and foster mutually beneficial professional relationships, both internally and externally
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Experience managing difficult or emotional customer situations
