The Role
We're looking for an Embedded Software Engineer Co-op to help develop and test software and firmware for Bose audio products, prototypes, and engineering tools.

What You'll Do
- Design, develop, and test embedded software and firmware for audio systems and engineering platforms.
- Develop high-quality, maintainable code using C/C++ and Python.
- Prototype and integrate software on embedded processors and hardware platforms.
- Develop automation tools to improve testing, performance measurement, and engineering workflows.
- Debug, validate, and benchmark software performance in embedded environments.
- Participate in code reviews and follow software development and version-control practices.
- Create technical documentation for software design, implementation, testing, and validation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including software, DSP, acoustics, systems, and hardware engineering.
What You Bring
- Currently pursuing a B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Programming experience with C/C++ and/or Python.
- Coursework or project experience in embedded systems, software development, algorithms, computer architecture, or operating systems.
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hands-on engineering environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with embedded processors, RTOS, Linux, or embedded Linux.
- Experience with Git or other source-control tools.
- Knowledge of DSP, audio signal processing, or real-time audio systems.
- Experience with software testing, automation, CI/CD, or performance profiling.
- Familiarity with microcontrollers, ARM-based systems, device drivers, or hardware/software interfaces.
- Experience using laboratory equipment or working with electronic hardware.
- Passion for software, audio technology, embedded systems, and learning how things work.
