Emergency and Critical Care Veterinary Technician at VCA Arboretum View Animal Hospital
Schedule: Full-time opportunity. Overnight/3rd shift, 3 x 12 hour days (7 pm - 8 am.)
Compensation: $22 - 35/hr, and the starting range for technicians is determined by licensure, skill set, and years of experience. A $5,000 sign-on bonus is available to eligible new hires. Terms and conditions apply.
This is an exciting opportunity for a technician who enjoys utilizing advanced technical skills, critical thinking, and compassionate nursing care in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same.
In This Role, You Will:
- Provide exceptional nursing care to emergency and critically ill patients.
- Collaborate closely with Criticalists, ER Doctors, Specialists, and fellow technicians.
- Perform triage assessments and assist with patient stabilization.
- Utilize advanced technical skills including venipuncture, IV catheter placement, diagnostic imaging, laboratory diagnostics, oxygen therapy, and blood transfusion support.
- Monitor hospitalized and ICU patients, recognizing subtle changes in patient status and communicating findings to the medical team.
- Assist with emergency procedures and advanced treatments.
- Educate clients and provide clear discharge instructions.
- Help create a positive, collaborative environment focused on outstanding patient care.
