The RoleThe Employee Relations Specialist serves as a key partner within the organization, fostering strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and ensuring compliance with HR policies and workplace legislation. This role emphasizes coaching, communication, and training to support people leaders and employees at all levels.


 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establishes and maintains strong relationships with Centers of Excellence (COE), HR Field, people leaders, and employees across the organization.
  • Delivers training sessions on employee-related topics to promote compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Applies a “coach first” approach to problem-solving, supporting leaders and employees in addressing workplace concerns and performance management.
  • Stays current with HR industry trends and best practices to ensure ongoing relevance and effectiveness of programs and policies.
  • Conducts workplace investigations and addresses employee complaints.
  • Provides guidance on policies and ensures consistent practices across leaders and employees.
  • Demonstrates expertise in federal and state workplace legislation, including EEO, FMLA, ADA, Workers Compensation, and ERISA, as well as investigative techniques.
  • Exhibits excellent problem solving and facilitation skills, resolving issues effectively and efficiently.
  • Communicates clearly and persuasively in both written and oral formats, influencing stakeholders at all organizational levels.


 

Requirements:
  • BA or BS degree
  • 3-5 years' experience in a human resources partner role, with 1-2 years focused on employee/labor relations
  • Thorough understanding of workplace legislation and HR practices
  • Strong communication, coaching, and facilitation abilities
  • Proven experience consulting with leaders and employees on performance management, disciplinary issues, and conducting workplace investigations
