Application development leadership role that leads and directs senior technical staff within the digital IT area. This position manages application development teams across all phases of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) with a focus on high quality and speed to market. Collaboration with business functions throughout the development lifecycle is also a key requirement of this position.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Performs a combination of duties in accordance with departmental guidelines:

- Participate in the selection of information technologies and manage vendor relationships.
- Prepare and manage an annual budget for IT areas of responsibility.
- Monitor new developments and industry best practices to incorporate in the company’s IT and operational management enterprise systems.
- Works closely with client department’s management to identify system requirements, assess impact to other systems, compare costs and benefits and recommend solutions for the highest risk programs.
- Participates in the identification and selection of information technologies, vendors and/or consulting resources which assist the functional business units in meeting their strategic objectives. Includes managing vendor relationships as required, including off-shore or remote consulting services.
- Senior level knowledge of internal business partners’ functions and systems.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to organize and plan effectively for short and long-term goals.
- Ability to manage offshore and remote consulting resources.

Typically AVP or above
Education & Experience
Master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or IT and 3 (three) years of experience in application development. In lieu of Master’s and 3years of experience, will accept Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or IT and 7 (seven) years of experience in application development.
Must have work experience with each of the following:
- designing and developing microservices API and implementing security using SpringBoot in cloud environment in the insurance domain;
- building decoupled components using Reactive or Angular UI; and
- automating deployments using CI/CD using tools such as Maven, Docker, or Jenkins.
