ReviewTrackers is currently looking for a passionate, self-motivated, and collaborative DevOps Engineer to join our Engineering Team. As a DevOps engineer at ReviewTrackers you will be helping our Engineering team deliver software in a quick, secure and reliable manner. We work closely with our fellow engineering teams to ensure they are set up for success, and look for improvements in our own processes to ensure stability of the CI/CD pipeline. The majority of our work is done in Terraform and Python, and most of the pipeline is handled with Jenkins. Join us as we continue to change the way businesses interact with their customers!

What you will be working on:

  • Building and improving development tools and infrastructure (we love SlackOps)
  • Maintaining and improving our CI/CD pipeline (Jenkins with a dash of Travis)
  • Building and tuning monitoring and alerting (we use Datadog and Prometheus)
  • Collaborating with our Sr. DevOps Engineer on long term projects and goals
  • Working on ways to automate and improve development and release processes 
  • Collaborating with fellow engineers to solve new technical problems
  • Perform root cause analysis and corrective action when issues arise (no finger pointing!)

Who you will be working with:

  • You will be reporting to the Senior DevOps Engineer, and will be meeting weekly to develop a clear and defined promotional path.
  • You will be working in our engineering organization of roughly 20 engineers, and on a team of our Senior DevOps engineer, two SDET and a QA engineer
  • You will be working with other engineers to help maintain a healthy codebase and development practices

What we need from you:

  • At least 1 year of experience working within Linux systems
  • Proficient with git and git workflows and knowledgeable of the software development lifecycle
  • Familiarity with containers and container orchestration (Swarm, Kubernetes, etc)
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code technology (Terraform, Ansible, Chef, etc)
  • Comfortable scripting in either Python, Bash, Ruby or Groovy
  • Experience working in DevOps theory/principles
  • Working knowledge of databases and SQL (we use Postgresql)
  • Nice to have:
    • Experience managing and configuring identity and access management
    • Experience with cloud-based secret management systems (Vault, AWS Secrets Manager, Azure Key Vault, etc.)
    • Experience with microservice architecture and message queues (RabbitMQ, Kafka, etc.)
    • Strong understanding of network fundamentals, TCP/IP and related services

Location

Located in The Loop, our Chicago headquarters is a quick walk to public transportation options such as the CTA and Metra. We're close to Millennium Park as well as a variety of trendy restaurants and shopping venues. Our team is mostly remote, but our office is open to local and visiting employees!
