Director of Engineering Operations - Agile Leader
SpotHero is seeking a Director of Engineering Operations who is a great agilist to manage, shape and grow our team.
Who we are:
SpotHero is a fast-growing market leader disrupting the mobility space. Drivers across the nation use the SpotHero mobile app, website, and connected car integrations to reserve convenient, affordable parking. Parking companies rely on us to help them reach new customers while optimizing their business. We connect the dots with cutting-edge technology, delivering value to both sides of this exciting, evolving marketplace.
This role will report into our CTO who really values great Agilists as part of each squad or team of engineers within SpotHero engineering. Great Agilists need a great leader.
Why Agile at SpotHero?
The right human in this role can help a squad, a league become much more effective by ensuring strong shared understanding between Customers, Product, Engineering, Design and Quality/Test.
They help the team learn from their mistakes and learn from the unknowns with #Retrospectives that are facilitated in ways to hear everyone’s voices. They are often good at reading the room and help the team unblock themselves when they get stuck. They are able to signal the current progress of work and if we are likely to meet delivery timelines.
They are great partners to Engineering and Product Managers by providing an extra perspective of a situation and can deliver critical #feedback. They spot the patterns that get in the way. They act as coaches and mentors for everyone on the team (yes including the Managers or Directors, or VP or CTO) to be better at communicating and ensuring we don’t #dontgetstuckintraffic.
Great Agilists find the balance between consistency, evolutionary growth and helping the team get stuff done. They find the right framework, process or principle for each team, but know that at the end of the day, people are what matter most. They create an environment with #PsychologicalSafety by being an extra set of ears for each team member, which in turn helps us #fuelrelationships.
