Position Description

Pareto is looking for an experienced engineering manager to build and lead our frontend engineering teams. This is an opportunity to grow a team of engineers who are deeply passionate about healthcare, security, and amazing user experiences. To be successful in this role, you need to be a strong people manager; great at giving and receiving feedback, fostering new ideas, and empowering others in a remote environment. You also need a strong software engineering background, to have a thorough understanding of technical architecture, system design, and problem-solving intuition on sophisticated technical challenges. You’re able to quickly ship new products and features by giving your teams the freedom and flexibility to develop the best possible solution.

Core Functions

• Leading, mentoring, appropriately delegating, and empowering a hardworking team of engineers to deliver against strategic business outcomes
• Uphold the highest standards of performance for self and team
• Lead multiple projects. Estimate, plan, and slice projects to frequently deliver value to production.
• Collaborate across business units and product teams spread to develop and execute against the team's vision, strategy, and roadmap.
• Act as a change agent, initiating appropriate changes to support continuous business improvement
• Guiding the team to solve complex engineering assignments. Instill a spirit of continuous improvement in the team's code, architecture, and processes.

Basic Qualifications

• BA or BS (preferably in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS or IT related field)
• 5-7 years of Information Technology experience
• Strong understanding of network infrastructure and configuration
• Confidentiality - role requires a high level of system access
• Detail oriented individual with ability to follow through on and document all tasks
• Good interpersonal skills
• Proven track record of dedication

Preferred Skills

• A mastery of Front-End engineering and a proven track record of shipping high quality software solutions. This allows you to make great high-level technical decisions, help your team through difficult design decisions, and coach your team to grow their career.
• A strong servant-leadership management style geared towards supporting, mentoring and growing engineers on the team. You care deeply about people, and their success.
• Not afraid of hard conversations and you are gifted at coaching your colleagues through difficult situations.
• A strategic and think at a high level, but are also hands-on, execution-oriented, and capable of getting things done quickly.
• An ability to translate a long-term vision into a near-term, executable plan.
