ABOUT THE ROLE

In our mission to build the best experience for our retailers, we are constantly adding new features to our core retailer integration platform. As a Frontend Engineer, you will be helping evolve a retailer integration platform with no barrier to scale.  On the frontend we use TypeScript, and on the backend we use SpringBoot + Kotlin.  You also will be part of a team that uses industry best-practices in modern web application development.  ShopRunner is proud to be committed to Twelve-Factor applications by investing in CI/CD, feature flags, and automated testing. 
This role is US based only but we are open to any of our US offices in Chicago, IL, Conshohocken, PA (Philly), and New York City or fully remote in any of these states: CA, DE, IL, IN, FLA, MA, NY, NJ, NC, SC, PA, TX, UT, VA, WA, CT, MD, MI. From time to time, there will be limited travel to our offices as the need arises.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Build reusable web components as part of our retailer Javascript SDK using TypeScript 
  • Work with technologies and frameworks such as vanilla JS, Typescript, NextJS, and Kotlin that are part of the variety of web services and applications that compose the retailer integration platform
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues as assigned
  • Work closely with product managers, designers, other engineers
  • Document and share technical directions, patterns and best practices with other members of engineering team

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelors degree and 3+ years’ experience writing production code for web applications. We love Polyglots who know several other languages and like the right tool for the job
  • Experience with modern JavaScript ecosystem, including ES6, Typescript and Webpack 
  • Experience interfacing with RESTful APIs
  • Experience with frontend development best practices including a11y, browser testing and responsive/mobile first development strategies and CSS/SASS/SCSS
  • Experience with all phases of software engineering, including requirements analysis, development, testing and integration, maintenance, and issue resolution
  • Strong problem solving ability
  • Nice to haves but not needed: Experience working in AWS, Docker, Java/Kotlin
